Many young people or even the elderly have the opportunity to experience many different lands and cultures, whether interesting or new, but when returning to Lai Chau , they still cannot resist the attraction of the extremely simple things in the place where the mountains are full in their eyes. The beloved land on the edge of the Northwest sky has been associated with the youthful memories of many people.

What I like most about Lai Chau is the strangely peaceful feeling when every early morning I can breathe in the fresh air, listen to the simple sounds of life with the sound of the wind rustling the leaves, the sound of birds chirping from branch to branch... That dreamy space does not have to be searched far away, does not have to go on vacation, or go on a healing trip , but right in the city center you can possess and enrich your spiritual life.

Summer comes while many places are sweltering with the hot weather, Lai Chau is cool and pleasant like autumn, sometimes even a little chilly like winter. This climate makes people here seem more gentle, easy-going, optimistic and love life more.

Without jostling, hustle and bustle, Lai Chau people live simply, friendly, rustic and warmly; treating each other with love. That solidarity, those feelings have been affirmed not only through daily life but also clearly in the major events organized by the province and left many good impressions in the hearts of tourists. Typically, at the 64th National Marathon and Long Distance Championship of Tien Phong Newspaper in 2023, the Organizing Committee's concern about the lack of accommodation was relieved when people in the province were willing to give up their family's accommodation for tourists and athletes to stay, even treating them like relatives but not taking any money. It is known that the whole province has mobilized 1,608 accommodation rooms from the people; in addition, many union members and youths also volunteered to participate in consulting, supporting, and transporting for free for nearly 3,000 athletes and tourists...

Also at many cultural events of the province, security and order are always ensured. What is surprising to many people from other provinces and cities when coming to Lai Chau is that cars, motorbikes... of local people and tourists from near and far are parked for kilometers, without anyone watching, no parking ticket is required but no vehicle owner is worried about losing it. Then there are pickpockets, soliciting, and ripping off customers, which are probably also rare.

Each locality in this remote border region has its own identity that attracts tourists to explore. Not to mention the big tourist attractions, just the roads are enough to capture the hearts of those who love to experience nature. Along the gentle and poetic stream, hidden in the clouds are lush green forests, sometimes with bright red magnolia flowers, sometimes with brilliant yellow chrysanthemums, sometimes with white Bauhinia flowers, plum blossoms, and then the light pink of peach blossoms...

Another thing that Lai Chau people are always proud of is that with the strategic vision, the urban planning of the province is scientific, modern in scale and stature. It not only maximizes the functionality but also becomes a highlight to decorate the picture of the province. In particular, the residential planning is also calculated according to the chessboard, every house is on the street, has trees, sidewalks, spacious area, creating a comfortable living space for households...

The transportation system is increasingly improved, making it convenient for people to travel and trade. Perhaps no traffic jams and no dust are also the “differences” when participating in traffic in Lai Chau.

With the attention of the Party and State; the correct and accurate leadership of the province, the people work hard in production, boldly develop the economy, the lives of all classes of people in Lai Chau have changed dramatically after more than 20 years of separation and establishment of the province.

Ms. Pham Thi Phan, a retired cadre in Tan Phong ward (Lai Chau city), who has been attached to Lai Chau since before the separation and establishment of the province, confided: The establishment of the new province has brought about many changes for the people, especially job opportunities and social security. The old Phong Tho land has put on a beautiful new coat. Cars and motorbikes, which were thought to be just a dream, are no longer strange, children are able to go to school, people in the highlands know how to work and do business, learn new and good things, eliminate bad customs, and take advantage of digital platforms to sell goods. This is proof of the great changes in the thinking of Lai Chau people to adapt to the flow of development.

My friends all love Lai Chau. Many families have the means to move to big cities but still choose Lai Chau to stay. Ms. Luong Lan (Doan Ket ward, Lai Chau city) confided: I have had the opportunity to work and travel in many provinces but I still like living in Lai Chau the most. To me, Lai Chau is truly a livable city!

After more than 20 years of efforts to overcome difficulties, Lai Chau has made comprehensive progress in all aspects. It is not by chance that Lai Chau is like that, it is thanks to good policies, correct decisions and indispensable consensus of the people.
