Traffic Police Team No. 1 controls vehicles on National Highway 6.

Present at the fixed weighing station at km 161 + 500, National Highway 6, after a heavy rain, officers and soldiers of the Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 actively instructed and educated vehicle owners on safe driving skills in rainy weather and slippery roads. Major Lo Bich Son, an officer of the Team, shared: National Highway 6 is a vital traffic route, with thousands of vehicles participating in traffic every day. On days of heavy rain, we are on duty at the checkpoint, using loudspeakers to propagate and instruct vehicle owners on safe driving measures in bad weather conditions.

Along with the task of patrolling and handling traffic violations, during times of rain and fog, at some points with high risk of landslides, potentially unsafe for drivers and vehicles participating in traffic, the Team has arranged 2 working groups on duty 24/7 on the route to regulate traffic, guide vehicle owners; install LED lights to warn of slippery roads in the rain, guide and support drivers with safe driving measures and skills.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Duc, Team Leader, said: The unit has increased the number of officers and soldiers to stay at locations where there is often fog or slippery roads to promptly support vehicle owners when necessary. Strengthen propaganda and warnings to drivers about winding, dangerous mountain passes, rain, fog, slippery roads, and limited visibility. At the same time, strictly handle violations that directly cause traffic accidents, such as: encroaching on lanes; avoiding and overtaking in violation of regulations; speeding; using alcohol and stimulants while participating in traffic.

For areas at risk of landslides, the Team consults with the Traffic Police Department to propose to the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee to add warning signs; assign officers and soldiers to be ready to participate in regulating and diverting traffic, supporting people and vehicles when landslides occur on road sections; coordinate with relevant units to quickly overcome landslides, ensuring safe and smooth traffic.

Officers of Road Traffic Police Team No. 1 promote safe driving for vehicle owners.

With many years of experience driving the Muong La - Hanoi route, driver Nguyen Cong Truy, Phong Hien bus company, shared: On rainy days, the road is slippery, making it difficult for vehicles to move. Drivers must be very focused, move slowly, do not speed or overtake recklessly, and especially must follow the instructions of the traffic police.

Mr. Hoang Nam Thanh, Quang Ninh province, drove his family to Moc Chau National Tourist Area. He said: This is the first time going through this route, the road has many steep and winding passes, and it was a rainy day, the road was slippery and difficult to move. With the guidance and reminders from the traffic police officers, I carefully checked the entire lighting system, brakes and some notes on driving in bad weather conditions, helping me have a safe trip.

Entering the peak months of the rainy season, the risk of landslides on roads is higher, potentially causing safety risks for people and vehicles participating in traffic. Along with the efforts of the authorities, traffic participants need to raise awareness when participating in traffic; strictly comply with regulations on ensuring traffic safety, minimizing unfortunate accidents; protecting the health and lives of themselves and the community.
