Lam Dong: Urgently preparing 8 resettlement areas to serve the North-South high-speed railway project

Eight resettlement areas serving the high-speed railway project through Lam Dong are expected to start construction in September and October 2025 and be completed in early 2026.

On the afternoon of August 8, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province held a meeting to deploy the construction of resettlement areas to serve the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis through Lam Dong province.

To serve the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis, Lam Dong province has planned to build 8 resettlement areas in the communes: Tuy Phong, Bac Binh, Luong Son, Ham Liem, Hong Son, Ham Kiem, Tan Lap and Binh Thuan ward. The total area is about 26.6 hectares, with a total cost of about 420 billion VND.

At the meeting, representatives of wards and communes where the North-South high-speed railway passes through raised difficulties related to land use planning.

For example, the three resettlement areas in Tuy Phong commune, Bac Binh commune, and Ham Liem commune are not in accordance with the commune's construction planning, land use planning, and land use plan.

The North-South high-speed railway project through Lam Dong province is 156.5km long, including 2 stations (Phan Ri Station in Bac Binh commune and Phan Thiet Station in Binh Thuan ward), 4 maintenance stations, and an expected land clearance area of 936 hectares.

The project area passes through 18 wards and communes including: Tuy Phong 10.2km, Vinh Hao 10.3km, Lien Huong 4.7km, Phan Ri Cua 6km, Bac Binh 11.8km, Hong Thai 8.1km, Hoa Thang 2.8km, Luong Son 4.4km, Song Luy 7.8km, Hong Son 17.1km, Ham Thuan 5.1km, Ham Liem 10.5km, Ham Kiem 13.4km, Tuyen Quang 0.39km, Ham Thuan Nam 4.1km, Tan Lap 19.3km, Tan Minh 16.5km and Binh Thuan ward 4.2km.

According to the Department of Construction of Lam Dong province, the plan is to have 7 resettlement areas in Tuy Phong commune, Bac Binh commune, Luong Son commune, Ham Liem commune, Hong Son commune, Tan Lap commune, Binh Thuan ward, expected to start construction on October 18, 2025, and expected to complete the project on March 16, 2026.

As for the resettlement area in Ham Kiem commune, construction is expected to start on September 12, 2025 and be completed on February 8, 2026.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned departments and branches to promptly speed up the implementation of related resettlement projects.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments to quickly reach an agreement and by August 15, issue a document guiding responses to localities on planning, land use and construction planning issues. Site clearance work continues to coordinate well with localities to organize site clearance.

In addition, other departments and branches review the list of rice land use; report to the Central Government for resettlement funding, on the basis of the province's advance payment. Communes and wards strictly manage the planned resettlement area, not allowing people to build or plant perennial trees on the planned area. Coordinate to organize site clearance in accordance with regulations.
