In the days approaching the Lunar New Year, the construction site of Vung Mountain Tunnel in the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Expressway project is still bustling, urgently constructing items on the left branch tunnel.
The atmosphere of Tet is bustling throughout the Vung mountain tunnel project. In addition to ensuring the construction work, contractors and project management boards pay attention to decorating, hanging flags, and buying flowers at the operator's house and workers' camps so that workers can have a warm atmosphere of Tet.
A representative of Deo Ca Group, the construction unit of Vung Mountain Tunnel, said that up to now, the unit has basically completed the construction of tunnel No. 1 on the right. In tunnel No. 2 on the left, the unit is focusing on human resources to pour concrete for the tunnel arch. This year, at the construction site, there are about 100 workers working through Tet.
Mr. Ngo Huu Khoa, Commander of Vung Mountain Tunnel Construction, said that during the tunnel excavation process, the tunnel construction site from the South encountered a weak geological zone, which was different from the approved technical design documents, affecting the tunnel excavation progress. At tunnel No. 2 from Binh Thuan to Ninh Thuan , inside the tunnel, many groups of workers are rushing to complete the concrete pouring of the tunnel arch, working 3 shifts/day during Tet to complete the construction by the end of March this year (Photo: Duc An).
According to Mr. Ngo Huu Khoa, to ensure a joyful spring and Tet atmosphere for workers staying at the construction site, the crews will only stop working on the 30th and 1st of the Lunar New Year. The project management board and contractors will also decorate the Tet space, give Tet gifts to workers, organize visits and meals.
Mr. Pham Van Lanh (38 years old, from Phu Yen ) said: "Everyone wants to return home to their families during Tet, but this year the unit needs manpower to speed up construction to ensure completion before April 30, so many of my colleagues and I registered to stay. After Tet, when everyone comes back for Tet holiday, I asked for leave to return home later."
Vung Mountain Tunnel is 2.2km long, has 3 lanes, and is 14m wide. This tunnel has been dug and opened in two branches since August 2023. At the right branch of the tunnel, from Ninh Thuan to Binh Thuan , the basic items are completed. At the left branch of the tunnel, from Binh Thuan to Ninh Thuan, the unit is speeding up the progress to complete it by the end of March this year.

According to Dan Tri reporter, in the days before Tet, at the construction site south of Vung mountain tunnel, the working atmosphere is very urgent. Many sections of the highway have been completed, waiting for the opening day.
In the Project Management Board area, south of Vung Mountain Tunnel (Tuy Phong District, Binh Thuan), many machines, vehicles, and construction equipment for Vung Mountain Tunnel are neatly arranged as more than 60% of the workforce has returned home to celebrate Tet.
Currently, the contractor has completed the main section of Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway from Phan Rang - Thap Cham city (Ninh Thuan) to Vinh Hao (Binh Thuan).
Cam Lam - Vinh Hao is one of three North - South expressway projects implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. The project is 78.5km long, passing through three provinces: Khanh Hoa (5km), Ninh Thuan (63km), Binh Thuan (12km). This expressway is expected to be put into operation at the end of April this year.
