4th floor railing falls onto school yard, three female students hospitalized

A group of students in Nghe An were playing and caused a stainless steel railing to fall from the 4th floor onto the school yard, injuring three female students below, one of whom was seriously injured.

At 11:30 a.m. on April 14, police were blocking off, examining the scene, and taking statements from witnesses about the incident where a railing fell, causing three female students to be hospitalized, at Vinh University's Pedagogical Practice School in Nghe An .

Initial information, at around 9:30 am the same day, a group of students were playing on the 4th floor of Vinh University Pedagogical Practice School. At this time, the students pushed each other near the railing, causing a section of stainless steel railing to fall down below.

There were many students standing in the school yard during recess. A section of the railing fell on a group of female students, injuring three of them. One of them was bleeding profusely and passed out on the spot.

Students playing caused the railing to fall from the 4th floor to the school yard, injuring 3 female students.

Then the teachers took the children to Vinh City General Hospital for emergency treatment.

The most seriously injured female student was transferred to a higher level hospital for treatment in critical condition.

According to Tuoi Tre Online at the scene, a piece of stainless steel railing more than 1 meter long fell from the 4th floor, leaving a gap. The building where the incident occurred is 5 stories high.

An 8th grade student who witnessed the incident recounted that he saw his friends playing on the 4th floor when suddenly the stainless steel railing fell to the ground. Luckily, a student was pulled back by a friend, avoiding falling along the railing.

A Vinh University official said the three female students involved in the accident were all ninth graders.

Currently, the school is working with the families to treat the injured students and send a report of the incident to the Nghe An Department of Education and Training.

Vinh University Pedagogical Practice School was established in 2009 and is located on the campus of Vinh University. Up to now, the school has trained preschool, primary, secondary and high school levels.
