Jordan Mintah has officially completed the process of naturalizing as a Malaysian. The 29-year-old striker of Kuching City FC is now eligible to play as a domestic player.

This information has been confirmed by Kuching City on its official Facebook page.

Mintah started his career in Malaysia in 2017 when he joined Terengganu FC. Since then, he has had a remarkable career in Malaysia, playing for various teams such as UiTM, Terengganu FC II and KL City before joining Kuching City.

The 1997-born striker is renowned for his speed and sharp finishing ability. Mintah has scored more than 60 goals in all competitions in Malaysia. His most explosive period was with Terengganu FC II, where he scored 30 goals in just two seasons. In the 2024 season, he also scored 3 goals in 7 appearances in the Super League.

Mintah's Malaysian citizenship opens up the possibility of him being called up to the national team, which is undergoing a dramatic transformation under the player naturalization policy.

The striker himself has also expressed his desire to play for the Malaysian national team, considering it his second home. He will become the latest naturalized player from Malaysia, following names such as Mohamadou Sumareh, Liridon Krasniqi, Guilherme de Paula and Endrick dos Santos.

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM)'s massive naturalization policy is causing a lot of controversy in the country. Despite opposition from some fans, it cannot be denied that the addition of foreign-born players has significantly increased the strength of the Malaysian team.
