Shining after 3 years wearing the Japanese national team jersey

Three years ago, hardly anyone paid attention to the name Yoshino Sato when she was first called up to the Japanese volleyball team to participate in the 2022 World Championship.

Some TV cameras spotted a girl with buck teeth, tall and slim, with a clear face. And at that time, Sato was still a university student, playing no more than a reserve role in the Japanese national team.

But after 3 years, returning to the world arena, Sato is now the brightest superstar of the Japanese team in the role of main striker.

Sato graduated from Tsukuba University, where she led the team to win many national student championships.

In 2024, this 1.78m tall girl joined the NEC Red Rockets Kawasaki club and in her first season scored nearly 900 points, receiving the title of "Best Rookie" and a position in the typical lineup.

This achievement helped her quickly affirm her name and become the face expected to inherit Koga Sarina's role in the national team.

At the VNL (FIVB Nations League) 2025, Sato stood out with many high-scoring matches. A typical example was the match against France in Chiba, where Sato scored 19 points, including three direct serves.

Her all-round attacking ability, high jumping ability and fiery competitive spirit have made her the new spearhead of the Japanese team.

Interestingly, while Western media focused on analyzing Sato's performance and playing technique, Asian press praised her appearance.
