Focus on ensuring security and order during the rainy and stormy season

Faced with the local situation being heavily affected by the historic flood, causing many difficulties for people's lives, Colonel Ho Xuan Phuong, Deputy Director and Head of the City Police Investigation Agency, directed the police of units and localities to proactively grasp the situation, synchronously deploy professional measures; focus on preventing, detecting and effectively combating all types of crimes, especially theft, fraud, and taking advantage of natural disasters to commit illegal activities.

For example, in the incident that occurred in early November, Hue City Police issued a decision to temporarily detain Le Duc Hanh (born in 1993, residing in Xuan Hoa Residential Group, Vy Da Ward) for the act of "Resisting a person on official duty" that occurred at Vy Da Bridge on October 30.

Due to the heavy rain and floods, many cars were parked to avoid the flood, causing traffic jams. The working group of Team 2 - Traffic Police Department of Hue City Police was regulating traffic when Hanh, driving a motorbike, did not obey the order, used insulting words and swerved to run away. After going about 30 meters, Hanh turned back to attack the traffic police officer, punching and kicking him in the face and stomach. The police and people quickly controlled him and brought him to the headquarters.

Test results showed that Hanh tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana, with an alcohol concentration of 0.094 mg/liter of breath. The subject had a previous conviction for “Theft of property” in 2010.

Implementing the direction of the Hue City Police, the police of wards and communes have urgently developed and implemented plans to ensure security and order during the rainy and stormy season, increased the number of permanent forces on duty 24/7, arranged closed patrols in the area, promptly detected and handled arising situations.

Units have also stepped up propaganda work, mobilizing people to raise their vigilance, proactively manage and protect their property, and participate in the movement of the entire people protecting national security. Many localities have mobilized union members, youth, women, veterans, etc. to coordinate with the local police to establish People's patrol teams, contributing to maintaining order and safety in residential areas. From there, it has contributed to helping the security and order situation in the city to be basically stable, creating conditions for people to feel secure in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize their lives.
