The 2025 National Music Festival with the theme of Music Convergence and Spread will take place from October 29 to November 2 at the Southern Military Theater and the Ho Chi Minh City Theater. On the evening of November 2, the closing ceremony of the festival will take place in Ho Chi Minh City.

The first National Music Festival in Ho Chi Minh City

Along with the closing ceremony is the Vietnam - China Friendship Symphony Concert organized by the Vietnam Musicians Association in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City and the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi within the framework of the 2025 National Music Festival.

Attending the event were Mr. Tran Thanh Lam, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; musician Do Hong Quan - President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations; Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Lan - Director of the Department of Culture and Arts, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Major General, musician Nguyen Duc Trinh - President of the Vietnam Musicians Association; Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Thuy - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports; Mr. Truong Duc Son, Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi and professors, musicians and artists at the Guangxi Academy of Arts (China).

The 2025 National Music Festival was held for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City. The festival gathered more than 600 musicians and artists from 38 branches of the Vietnam Musicians Association. The context was that Ho Chi Minh City had just successfully organized the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030. On October 31, Ho Chi Minh City was honored by UNESCO as the first creative city in the field of cinema in Southeast Asia.

People's Artist Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, said: "Ho Chi Minh City, with its expanded administrative space, carries within it a strong aspiration for the development vision of a megacity, a multi-faceted center of the country, and is ready to expand cooperation and cultural exchange with domestic and foreign friends, aiming for the goal of sustainable development."

Singer Tung Duong performed the song "Aspiration to Rise Up" in the competition night on October 31. This song was composed by musician Do Hong Quan and has been sung by Tung Duong in many important events. He was absent in the closing night.

The Special Prize for Impressive Performance was awarded to artist Khanh Ly and the Promising Singer Prize was awarded to singer Tran Gia Hung. In addition, the organizing committee also awarded B prizes and silver medals to many artists participating in the festival.
