On the evening of October 30th, the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Expanded Music Festival took place at the Southern Military Theater (Ho Chi Minh City).
Attending the opening ceremony were Major General, musician Nguyen Duc Trinh - President of the Vietnam Musicians Association; Mr. Tran Huong Duong - Deputy Director of the Department of Performing Arts; People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City; Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung - Political Commissar of Military Region 7...
Along with them, musicians from branches across the country also came to celebrate.
For the future of Vietnamese music
Major General Nguyen Duc Trinh - President of the Vietnam Musicians Association - stated at the opening ceremony: "The festival is a meeting and exchange of creative experiences between musicians of the Vietnam Musicians Association and talented solo artists, golden voices of Vietnam, in which new musical works, young talents, and beautiful voices are introduced."
"That is a decisive factor for professional activities today and in the future, contributing to the revival and successful development of an advanced Vietnamese culture and music rich in national identity."

He expressed his gratitude for the guidance and support from the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television Station, various departments of Ho Chi Minh City, and other agencies regarding the 2025 National Expanded Music Festival.
Over 600 artists participated in the National Music Festival.
In a non-competition performance, singer Y Garia – son of the late People's Artist Y Moan – sang the song " Xon Xang Menh Mang Cao Nguyen Dak Lak" with his band, bringing the atmosphere of the Central Highlands to the stage in Ho Chi Minh City. Over the years, Y Garia has been gradually establishing himself in the rock music genre.
Over 600 musicians and artists from provincial and city branches across the country participated in the festival, presenting more than 185 performances in 7 competition programs.
In particular, the Vietnam Musicians Association is collaborating with the Guangxi Academy of Arts (China) to compose, arrange, and perform a Vietnamese-Chinese symphony music program at the closing ceremony of the festival on November 2nd at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House.

The 2025 National Expanded Music Festival will take place in Ho Chi Minh City, a place where the nation's finest elements converge, and where many innovative initiatives and aspirations for progress originate.
The awards include A and B prizes for musical works participating in the festival; and gold and silver medals for performances by artists, singers, and orchestras.
The 2025 National Expanded Music Festival, themed "Music Converges and Spreads," will take place at the Southern Army Theater and the Ho Chi Minh City Grand Theater from October 29 to November 2.
The festival is organized by the Vietnam Musicians Association in collaboration with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television Station, and the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association.
