On the afternoon of August 31, the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HFF) met and encouraged the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club before participating in the National Women's Football Championship - Thai Son Bac Cup 2025.
Coach Doan Thi Kim Chi and her team have won 6 consecutive championships and the 13th time in history when they were crowned last season. This season, the goal of the HCMC Women's Club is still to strive for the highest results.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HFF) Tran Anh Tu congratulated striker Huynh Nhu for scoring again for the Vietnamese team at the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship after 2 years of not scoring.
The head of HFF also wished the team good luck to continue to be the pride of Ho Chi Minh City women's football. "I wish the team to win the championship this year, to continue to qualify for the prestigious AFC Champions League for women," said Mr. Tu.

The National Women's Football Championship - Thai Son Bac Cup 2025 has 6 participating teams: Hanoi, Phong Phu Ha Nam , Ho Chi Minh City I, Ho Chi Minh City II, Vietnam Coal and Minerals, Thai Nguyen T&T.
The teams will compete in a round-robin format (home and away) and gather in Hanoi to calculate points and rank. The champion team will represent Vietnam in the 2026-2027 AFC Champions League for Women.
In the first round taking place on September 4, Thai Nguyen T&T will meet Than KSVN, while Hanoi will compete with Phong Phu Ha Nam. The match between Ho Chi Minh City II and Ho Chi Minh City I will take place on September 5. Therefore, tomorrow (September 1), the two women's football teams of Ho Chi Minh City will travel to Hanoi to prepare for the tournament.
In addition to the National Women's Football Championship, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club I also competes in the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League for Women. This is the arena where the Ho Chi Minh City girls have excellently reached the semi-finals of the 2024-2025 tournament.
Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club does not use overseas Vietnamese players
Speaking at the HFF's motivational meeting, coach Doan Thi Kim Chi shared: "After the first season, all teams invested more in the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League for Women. Therefore, it is very difficult for Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club to repeat the achievement.
But we will try to compete to bring achievements to Ho Chi Minh City women's football in particular and Vietnamese women's football in general."
Talking about the preparation process for the National Championship, Coach Kim Chi said: "We will not use overseas Vietnamese players like last year. The reason is that we cannot find good sources of players.
Good overseas Vietnamese players have contracts with foreign clubs. There are overseas Vietnamese student players, but their professional quality is not guaranteed and they are tied up with their studies."
"HCM City Women's Club has not yet found a foreign player for the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League Women's Team. Because it is difficult to find a short-term rental, there is not enough money to pay for a long-term rental, and it cannot be used in the National Championship because it is not allowed to register a foreign player until 2026," added coach Kim Chi.
