Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation new term: Need to have a worthy academy, bringing women's football to the world level

The new term Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HFF) has outlined many important directions to help the city's football develop further.

On the morning of November 29, the first Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HFF) for the 2025-2030 term took place in Ho Chi Minh City.

This is the Congress after the merger between the two old Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation and the old Binh Duong Football Federation, following the policy of merging administrative boundaries and merging mass associations.

With the professional and financial support from HFF in the previous term, Ho Chi Minh City football has achieved very impressive results. In which, women's football and futsal continue to dominate the national championships, providing the main force for the national teams.

In the new term, HFF has set out 6 key tasks including: Improving the quality of youth training and school football systems; investing in developing top clubs and women's football; continuing to affirm the position of Ho Chi Minh City futsal; professionalizing tournament organization; promoting sponsorship mobilization - increasing financial autonomy; applying technology in football management, statistics and communication.

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Nam Nhan - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City said: "We need to create a football academy worthy of Ho Chi Minh City after merging with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau .

Recently, HFF has cooperated with Lyon Club (France) in the youth training program. However, when it comes to Ho Chi Minh City football in the new stage, HFF needs to develop to its full potential and have its own academy.

"Women's football must continue to be the spearhead. Ho Chi Minh City women's football must advance internationally and reach the world level. Besides, HFF also needs to promote socialization further.

Call on more businesses in Ho Chi Minh City to join hands in investing in city football. These are issues that the new Executive Committee needs to pay attention to," Mr. Nhan added.

The Congress elected 17 members of the new Executive Committee and key leadership positions. Accordingly, Mr. Tran Anh Tu was elected as President of HFF for the 2025-2030 term. Mr. Tran Dinh Huan was appointed as Secretary General of HFF.

At the Congress, Thai Son Nam Trading Company Limited announced a sponsorship of 20 billion VND for the first HFF. This is an important resource for HFF to implement strategic programs on developing futsal, grassroots football, youth training and improving management capacity in the new period....
