U22 Vietnam returns to training, preparing for the match with U22 Malaysia

VHO - After the victory against U22 Laos on the opening day, the U22 Vietnam team returned to training on the evening of December 4 in Bangkok (Thailand), to prepare for the next match in Group B of the men's football SEA Games 33 against U22 Malaysia.

In this training session, coach Kim Sang-sik gave a training plan with moderate exercise volume. The group of players who started against U22 Laos mainly practiced recovery and muscle relaxation, while the remaining group practiced more attacking and finishing coordination exercises.

Midfielder Nguyen Xuan Bac suffered an injury in the opening match and was allowed to stay at the hotel for gym and treatment. According to the team doctor, the player can return to training in the next 2 to 3 days.

VHO - Striker Nguyen Dinh Bac had a brilliant day, scoring twice to help the U22 Vietnam team win 2-1 against U22 Laos in the opening match of Group B of the men's football event at the 33rd SEA Games.

In an interview before the training session, striker Nguyen Quoc Viet shared many perspectives on the opening match as well as his readiness for the next challenge.

The striker, who has participated in the SEA Games twice in a row, said the whole team is maintaining a positive spirit after the 2-1 victory over U22 Laos, although there is still some regret at not scoring more goals.

“After yesterday’s match, the team spirit was quite good. It was a bit regretful that we couldn’t score many goals. The coach also encouraged us that the first match is always difficult so getting 3 points is good,” said Quoc Viet.

Regarding the confrontation with U22 Malaysia - a match of great significance for the ambition to compete for the top spot in the group, Quoc Viet expressed his confidence: "I have played many times with Malaysia so I am very confident in the confrontation. The goal of U22 Vietnam is definitely 3 points."

Quoc Viet also added about the request from coach Kim Sang-sik: "The coach assigned me the task of trying my best and taking advantage of opportunities. As a striker, I have to score goals. I'm a bit regretful that I didn't score in the first match, but I will try harder in the next match."

U22 Vietnam still has 7 days before the match with U22 Malaysia (December 11). During this period, coach Kim Sang-sik and his coaching staff will continue to improve their playing style, especially their ability to handle the final situations to aim for victory and a ticket to the semi-finals.
