On the morning of July 17, for the first time, the military and police parade groups participated in a comprehensive rehearsal to prepare for the 80th National Day celebration on September 2.

After many days of training and joint exercises, on the morning of July 17, at the National Military Training Center 4 (Hanoi), for the first time, the military and police parade groups participated in a joint training session to prepare for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) (abbreviated as mission A80).
General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense chaired the comprehensive training inspection. Also attending were Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; representatives of the General Department of Logistics and Engineering and agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security .
The training consists of two parts with over 15,000 participants. The first part includes the contents of Party ceremonies and rituals, which are undertaken by the Ministry of National Defense. The second part is the training of parades and marches.
This parade formation has 18 standing groups and 43 walking groups, including 7 female Army groups (Military Band, Medical Officer, Vietnam Peacekeeper, Special Forces, Information Soldiers, Vietnam Ethnic Militia, Southern Guerrillas) and 2 female Police groups (Traffic Police Officer, Special Police Soldier).

Notably, after 40 years (since 1985), in the parade formation through the historic Ba Dinh Square, there appeared a block of military vehicles and special police vehicles, demonstrating the continuous growth of the people's armed forces over the past 80 years, under the wise leadership of the Party.
With the significance and significance of the event, over the past time, agencies and units of the Army and Police have thoroughly grasped, seriously implemented, and closely organized the centralized training of the parade and marching groups participating in the celebration. The units have selected additional comrades who are exemplary in political qualities, lifestyle ethics, and sense of organization and discipline; meeting the standards of height, appearance, and health to participate in the parade and marching groups.
After completing the basic training phase at the unit, from June 5-6, the forces organized to move to training locations, with a large number of troops, weapons, equipment, materials and vehicles, ensuring strictness and absolute safety; at the same time, they urgently entered training according to the set program, with the determination to excellently complete the assigned tasks.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Nguyen Tan Cuong praised the sense of responsibility, results and achievements that the participating forces have achieved in the recent past, especially when the training, joint training and combined training all took place in harsh weather conditions. After more than a month of concentrated training, the forces have always shown great efforts, determination to overcome many difficulties, actively practicing at high intensity to aim for the goal of "correct, even, strong, beautiful, unified"; demonstrating the discipline as well as the strength of the people's armed forces.
“To participate in this event, comrades, especially female comrades, have made a lot of efforts, focused with great spirit and responsibility, contributing to spreading the image of women in the armed forces,” the Chief of the General Staff noted.

According to General Nguyen Tan Cuong, this is the third time in a short period of time that we have organized a military parade. The first time was to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the second time was to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
Emphasizing that the upcoming parade and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 is an opportunity to demonstrate the solidarity and strength of the Vietnamese people, General Nguyen Tan Cuong stated that with a larger scale, a larger formation, the participation of vehicles, weapons and equipment, and the summary and experience from the two recent parades and marches, this time the quality requirements are also higher.
“In particular, in this parade, there will not only be ground formations such as walking formations, mechanized formations, and air force formations in the sky, but there will also be sea formations including submarines, surface ships of the navy, coast guard, border guards, and standing militia fleets, with images transmitted live to Ba Dinh Square,” said General Nguyen Tan Cuong.

Through the report of the Parade and March Subcommittee and the direct inspection and monitoring of this combined training, General Nguyen Tan Cuong assessed that the forces, units and individuals have made much progress, especially in terms of individual movements, horizontal and vertical distances. The military artillery and special police vehicles ensured the parade formation, maintained distance, speed... Many limitations pointed out in previous combined training sessions have been basically overcome.
Noting that there is not much time left until the anniversary (about 1.5 months), General Nguyen Tan Cuong requested that the forces must concentrate with the highest responsibility and effort to organize the parade and marching activities commensurate with the scale and stature of the event. The Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army assigned the Parade and Marching Subcommittee and agencies and units to draw specific lessons for each block, each row, each individual, striving for the next joint training sessions to have increasingly better results.
Emphasizing that participating in the parade and marching formation in the celebration of the country's important event is a special honor, General Nguyen Tan Cuong assigned the General Staff to continue to direct the organization of training to be truly basic, focusing on basic training of each person, each group, each row as the basis for practicing coordinated movements within the bloc, achieving training targets according to the requirements of the tasks of each bloc and each force. In addition, organizing comprehensive training of the armed forces, preliminary and final rehearsals closely, ensuring the highest quality, at the same time implementing well the combat readiness plan, organizing specific and tight coordination, ensuring absolute safety for parades, marches and celebrations.
The general departments continued to fulfill their assigned tasks well, especially directing the provision of logistics and technical support for the forces participating in the parade. The General Department of Logistics and Technology continued to direct the provision of military provisions and uniforms, especially ensuring technical support for the military vehicles participating in the parade.
