Beauty comes from the simple things.
When female police officers from Hai Phong city visited, encouraged, and provided 30 million VND to help repair her house, Mrs. Hoang Thi Mach, 73 years old, a former youth volunteer living alone in Duc Phong village, Kien Minh commune, was deeply moved.
She said that her house, about 20 square meters, had been dilapidated for many years, but she lacked the means to repair it. With poor health and an income based solely on a monthly allowance of 1.4 million VND and money earned from collecting scrap, the support from the female police officers helped alleviate her worries during the rainy and stormy season.
As part of meaningful activities during the historic month of May, a delegation of female police officers from Hai Phong City Police Department donated 30 million VND to support house repairs for Ms. Vu Thi Hung, 65 years old, residing in Kim Dien residential area, Tran Hung Dao ward. Without a husband or children, and frequently receiving treatment for mental illness, Ms. Hung had lived for many years in a dilapidated and impoverished house. This is also the 26th "House of Compassion" that female police officers and members have provided financial support for repairs to disadvantaged families in the area.
For the family of Mrs. HTMTh, 69 years old, residing in Hong An ward, the meaningful gift from the female police officers was a bicycle for LNHV. The orphaned girl, whose mother has passed away and whose father is serving a prison sentence, lives with her grandmother. The bicycle not only makes it easier for her to get to school but also gives her more motivation to strive for a better life.
Working together to ensure social security.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Linh Chi, Head of the Women's Committee of the City Police, to date, 100% of the women's associations and female officers and members of the City Police have participated in social and charitable activities; visiting and paying tribute to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded soldiers, and families of policy beneficiaries; and supporting women and children in special circumstances and people in areas affected by natural disasters and epidemics.
The local associations have sponsored 149 orphaned children through the "Godmother" and "Children Adopted by Commune Police" programs, providing support ranging from 500,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND per child for a period of 3-5 years, with some cases receiving support until the child reaches 18 years of age.
Over the years, social and charitable activities have been widely implemented with a total mobilized fund of over 4 billion VND. From this resource, support has been provided for the construction and repair of 26 "Houses of Love" for women outside the armed forces and female officers and soldiers in difficult circumstances, with a total value of nearly 800 million VND.
On occasions such as holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), summer break, and the start of the new school year, women's associations at all levels also advise police leaders in various units and localities to distribute thousands of gifts to children of officers and soldiers, women in difficult circumstances, orphans, disabled children, elderly people living alone, and poor households in the city.
In addition, female officers and members of the City Police actively participate in the "Accompanying Women in Border Areas" program launched by the Ministry of Public Security, donating books, warm blankets, scholarships, and livestock to support disadvantaged women and children in mountainous provinces such as Son La, Lai Chau , and Ha Giang...
Major General Bui Quang Binh, Director of the City Police, assessed that the Women's Associations at all levels within the city's police force have effectively implemented many practical models and activities, especially social and charitable activities, contributing to the successful implementation of social welfare policies and building a positive image of female police officers in the hearts of the people.
In the coming period, the Women's Associations of the City Police will continue to promote a proactive and creative spirit, building the image of female police officers as "intelligent, responsible, kind, and capable," contributing to the entire force's successful completion of tasks in the new phase.
