Loc Yen Ancient Village - a holiday destination

Loc Yen Ancient Village is currently one of only four ancient villages in the country to be classified as a National Monument. Many ancient houses dating back 100-150 years still remain here. These ancient houses, crafted by the skilled hands of Kim Bong carpenters, are situated along stone lanes, nestled under the lush shade of fruit trees.

Visiting Loc Yen - Thanh Binh, tourists will have more experiences, gain a deeper understanding of the local culture, and appreciate the diligence and hard work of the people in this rural area of Tien.

Loc Yen also preserves a "treasure": a mysterious self-rotating table created by the artisans of Van Ha carpentry village.

Tourists are shown a table with a diameter of about 80cm. If everyone places their hands face down on the table and unanimously agrees on a direction it will rotate, the table will begin to slowly spin. If everyone keeps their hands still and steps in time with the rotation, it will accelerate in that direction. When someone shouts "stop!", it suddenly stops... The table will then rotate in the opposite direction when everyone turns their hands face up. However, not all experiments are successful.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoan, the owner of the ancient house and the "magical" rotating table, said that on every holiday, his family always opens the house to visitors for free viewing, allowing them to experience the rotating table and make voluntary contributions to help the family preserve the house for tourism purposes. Since Loc Yen Ancient Village was recognized as an ancient village, the number of tourists has increased, and Loc Yen has become more widely known.

The 2024 April 30th and May 1st holiday lasts 5 days, from April 27th to May 1st. During this time, the Loc Yen - Thanh Binh community tourism destination in Tien Canh commune, Tien Phuoc district, will organize many new and unique activities to serve tourists who want to visit and experience the peaceful life in the countryside.

According to a representative of the Loc Yen Ancient Village Green Tourism Cooperative, the cooperative, along with households in Loc Yen Ancient Village, will offer tourists interesting activities and traditional dishes that reflect the authentic rural life of Tien Giang. Tourists will have the opportunity to personally make and enjoy the local specialty, banh xeo (Vietnamese savory pancake).

Visiting Loc Yen - Thanh Binh, tourists will experience tourism services at the Loc Yen Ancient Village community tourism destination, visit ancient houses, stone paths, the ancient village space, cultural and historical relics, enjoy local cuisine, folk games, watch demonstrations of handicrafts made from areca palm products, experience making banh xeo (Vietnamese savory pancake), experience the techniques of creating stone embankments and traditional baking crafts with the unique identity of the Tien Phuoc countryside.

At the same time, visitors to this place will be warmly welcomed by the locals with their hospitality, gentle manners, genuine character, and appreciation for their ancestors' heritage, which the people of Loc Yen - Thanh Binh have preserved as sacred treasures for hundreds of years. In addition, the locality will organize a cultural exchange on the evening of April 29th and a traditional folk singing performance on the evening of April 30th.
