Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau - a tourist from An Giang province shared: “This is the first time I have come to Bau Truc pottery village. Coming here, I saw a variety of pottery products, the color of the pottery is like the color of wood, very beautiful. For me, this is an interesting experience. I like the 12 zodiac pottery set of the craft village the most”.
Mr. Phu Huu Minh Thuan - Director of Bau Truc Cham Pottery Cooperative said: "From the beginning of June until now, Bau Truc pottery village has entered the peak tourist season. Currently, on average, the cooperative welcomes about 1,000 visitors per day to visit and experience... To attract tourists, along with diversifying designs, ensuring the quality of household, fine art and spiritual ceramic products, we focus on organizing services such as: Performing traditional musical instruments of the Cham people, experiencing the pottery making process under the guidance of artisans, introducing Cham culture... In the coming time, we will build a tourism program, arrange a more methodical and impressive space to better serve the needs of tourists".
Currently, Bau Truc pottery village has 2 cooperatives, 1 company, 22 production and business establishments and about 300 households making pottery. Unlike most pottery villages in Vietnam and the world, potters in Bau Truc make pottery entirely by hand, without using a turntable when shaping the product. When making pottery, artisans walk backwards around the clay block, while rubbing and stroking evenly to shape the product. After shaping and creating patterns, the pottery is dried and fired outdoors with firewood or straw. The firing process lasts several hours to a day depending on the size of the product. Each pottery product in Bau Truc is a unique, non-duplicated, monotonous work of art.
