The storm destroyed a row of classrooms in Son Loc, Ha Tinh.

According to the school leaders, in the 2025-2026 school year, the whole school has 546 students from the two old communes of Son Loc and Ngoc Son. The collapse of 13/29 classrooms and the library has forced nearly 50% of students to change their schedules. It is expected that the school will divide the classes into 2 sessions to have enough classrooms.

Storm No. 5 "tore" apart classrooms at Son Loc Secondary School.

"Before the storm hit, the school had taken cover and prepared for prevention. However, storm No. 5 was too strong and destroyed many classrooms. Faced with such a great natural disaster, people were almost helpless. All 13 classrooms in 2 rows of buildings were completely collapsed, forcing them to rebuild, but the school did not know where to get the funds. Classrooms were severely affected, so students could not go to school as planned.

This is something I did not expect. I would like to apologize to students and parents because the new school year is approaching and the teachers and students of the school do not have the minimum conditions to enter the school year," said Mr. Hoang The Anh.

Many classrooms had their roofs blown off.

According to the principal, in addition to the affected classrooms, many computers were damaged, books in the library, and tables and chairs were also severely damaged after the storm.

"The cost of rebuilding the two new buildings is estimated at 13-15 billion VND. Currently, the school does not know where to find the resources to rebuild the classrooms soon to meet the needs of the students. The school has reported to the leadership to ask for a solution," added Mr. Hoang The Anh.
