On December 15, 2024, new, spacious houses in the Lang Nu village resettlement area, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province were handed over to the residents.

The project was constructed by the 12th Army Corps, Truong Son Construction Corporation.

The Lang Nu village resettlement area project commenced on September 21st. Phase 1 covers an area of 10 hectares, comprising 40 houses and supporting facilities. Each family is allocated 1,000 square meters of spacious new housing.

According to the design approved by the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee and with the consent of the local people, 40 new houses were built in the style of traditional Tay stilt houses, with auxiliary facilities such as kitchens and toilets.

In the final days of the year, the people of Nu Village are busy decorating their homes, from installing curtains and partitioning rooms to hanging lanterns and decorating the space for Tet (Lunar New Year)...

"The people of Nu Village are grateful to the government for its concern and assistance in rebuilding their lives after the floods. With new houses, we no longer have to worry every rainy season and can work and produce with peace of mind," shared Mr. Hoang Van Nho.

The houses in Lang Nu village are filled with the atmosphere of spring.

The green vegetable gardens, newly planted by the people of Nu Village, contribute to beautifying the resettlement area.

In addition to housing, the resettlement area also includes schools, cultural centers, transportation systems, electricity, and water to ensure stable and long-term living conditions for residents, with the criteria of "Model Village" - green, clean, beautiful, civilized, and modern, and "Happy Village" - where people's lives are prosperous both materially and spiritually, with access to education , healthcare, and culture.

The classrooms were filled with laughter after the storm and floods.

The school and cultural center complex in the Lang Nu resettlement area has been built to a high standard.

Smiles have returned to the faces of the children in Lang Nu village.

Concrete roads stretch throughout the alleys leading into the resettlement area.

On the morning of September 10th, a devastating flash flood buried 33 households in Lang Nu village near the foot of Mount Voi, killing 60 people, with 7 still missing.
Field surveys indicate that the landslide originated at an altitude of 744 meters near the summit of Mount Voi, creating a mudslide that, upon encountering a 100-meter narrow section, formed a temporary "sluice gate," then breached and collapsed onto the residential area.
Approximately 1.6 million cubic meters of mud and rocks crashed down on the village in just 5 minutes. The mudslide stretched for about 3.6 km, affecting an area of 38 hectares, with mud accumulation depths of 8-15 meters, reaching a maximum depth of about 18 meters.
