On the Central side, attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Comrade Ho An Phong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism .
According to the report of the Lang Son Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board at the groundbreaking ceremony, the Lang Son Provincial Sports Complex project (Central Stadium and Multi-purpose Gymnasium) is being implemented on an area of 28.73 hectares, including 11 items with a total investment of more than 500 billion VND. The project is invested in 2 phases, of which phase I will implement the main items: Multi-purpose Gymnasium with 3,000 fixed seats and 1,000 mobile seats, Sports training house, Athletes' housing, square, training ground, parking lot, synchronous technical infrastructure. According to the plan, the project will be completed by the end of 2027.
When completed, Lang Son Provincial Sports Complex will meet the standards for hosting national and regional tournaments, creating architectural highlights and cultural and sports activities for the people, enhancing the image and position of Lang Son province.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, comrade Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province emphasized: Over the past years, Lang Son province has continuously paid attention to and invested in developing cultural and sports careers, building cultural life at the grassroots level, developing mass sports and high-performance sports movements. However, the province's system of sports facilities and institutions is still lacking in synchronization, failing to meet the requirements of organizing professional competitions and serving the increasing needs of people for training and enjoying culture and sports.
Based on that reality, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the investment policy of the Lang Son Provincial Sports Complex Project in the western area of the old Lang Son city (now in Dong Kinh ward, Lang Son province) with a modern and synchronous scale, including items such as a central stadium, a multi-purpose gymnasium, a swimming pool, a training ground, a training area, technical infrastructure systems, landscape trees, etc. This is also a typical project aiming to build Lang Son into an economic, cultural, sports and tourism center of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region. In particular, the Lang Son Provincial Sports Complex will create momentum for the development of the sports movement, improve the quality of people's lives, and affirm the position of Lang Son in the integration and development period.
In order for the project to be implemented on schedule, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province requested: The Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, construction contractors, consulting units to promote a sense of responsibility, mobilize maximum resources, organize scientific construction, ensure progress, quality, aesthetics, labor safety and environmental sanitation; departments, branches, sectors, Dong Kinh Ward People's Committee... Continue to closely coordinate and promptly resolve difficulties during project implementation; focus on accelerating site clearance to hand over to the construction unit on schedule, ensuring completion of the project in 2027.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, implementing the Government's direction, on the morning of August 19, 34 provinces and cities nationwide simultaneously held inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies for 250 projects. The ceremony was held online from the central point at the National Exhibition and Fair Center, Dong Anh Commune, Hanoi City to 80 points in 34 provinces and cities. According to the report of the Ministry of Construction at the online groundbreaking and inauguration ceremony, out of 250 works and projects that were organized to start construction and inaugurate on the morning of August 19, 89 works and projects were inaugurated and 161 works and projects were started. The total investment of 250 works and projects is 1,280,000 billion VND. Of which, the Government has selected 80 typical projects and works to organize online groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies, including the Lang Son Provincial Sports Complex project. |
