Tu Tho is thriving.
Arriving at the Tu Thó resettlement village (Tu Thó hamlet, Măng Ri commune, Quảng Ngãi province) at this time, we clearly felt the changes evident throughout the area.
The village roads are well-maintained and clean; along the mountain slopes, rows of lush green pine trees stretch upwards, creating cool, refreshing green patches. Interspersed are flower gardens displaying their vibrant colors and fragrant scents; in particular, the cherry blossoms are flourishing, waiting for the season to bloom and welcome visitors.
Along the roads, tourists and their loved ones immerse themselves in the fresh air and cool climate. In the early morning, many people go cloud hunting; right from their accommodations, simply opening the doors allows them to capture the ethereal moments of clouds and the pristine beauty of the mountains and forests.
Along the main road, groups of villagers returning from the forest carried valuable produce such as various types of ginseng. In lively conversations, they enthusiastically shared stories about their increasingly prosperous and comfortable lives in their new village.
Mr. A Dam, from Tu Tho village, said that about 5 years ago, his family lived in the old village under very difficult conditions, always fearing that their house would be destroyed by landslides whenever heavy rains and floods came.
After the local authorities surveyed and invested in the construction of the Tu Thó resettlement area, the project was quickly implemented, and his family was one of the pioneering households to move to the new home. Since then, his family no longer worries about landslides, and their lives have gradually become more stable.
The resettlement area has been well-invested in and is closely linked to the increasingly solid construction of new rural areas. With a safe place to live, Mr. Dam's family has boldly developed new economic models, focusing on growing cold-climate coffee, ginseng, Ngoc Linh ginseng, and pine trees, thereby increasing their income and gradually building a prosperous life.
A beautiful tourist destination.
Among the resettlement villages in the western Quang Ngai region, Tu Tho resettlement village was the first to be selected to host two major events with a significant impact on the ginseng industry: the International Ngoc Linh Ginseng Culinary Competition and the Ngoc Linh Ginseng Seminar.
These are significant events that have a strong ripple effect on the medicinal herb industry and have become a source of pride for the people of Tu Thó village.
According to Mr. A Bu, head of Tu Tho village, about 100 households from the old village have relocated to the resettlement area. After 5 years of moving to their new homes, people's lives have gradually improved, and the village's appearance is becoming increasingly vibrant.
The villagers have settled down and are now confidently developing their production with crops such as coffee, rice, and medicinal herbs, leading to increased income. A school has been built right in the village, creating favorable conditions for children to attend classes.
The New Rural Development Program continues to be implemented, contributing to improving the quality of life. This year's Tet holiday in Tu Tho promises to be more joyful and warm. The Xo Dang people here always have faith in the caring policies of the Party and the State.
Referring to the transformation of the Tu Thó resettlement village, Mr. Pham Xuan Quang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Mang Ri commune, said that the lives of the people are now different from before, more stable, and gradually escaping poverty. This is clearly demonstrated by the significant reduction in the poverty rate and the continuous improvement of people's living standards.
In conjunction with the new rural development program, the locality has focused on investing in infrastructure and emphasizing helping people change their mindset and methods, proactively developing their economy. Currently, many households have planted and own coffee gardens, Ngoc Linh ginseng, and Codonopsis pilosula, which have high economic value and provide a stable source of income.
In conjunction with the new rural development program, the commune continues to support people in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values such as costumes, handicrafts, and festivals; while also developing community tourism and effectively exploiting existing cultural and scenic advantages.
In addition, the local authorities are guiding people to develop medicinal plant cultivation in conjunction with reforestation, contributing to increased income and sustainable environmental protection. This is a long-term approach to building Tu Tho into a new rural village integrated with community tourism.
In reality, Tu Tho has become an attractive destination for tourists who love exploration and unique experiences. In its journey of development, the Tu Tho resettlement village continues to receive attention from provincial leaders.
At the ceremony to receive the title of community tourism village, Comrade Nguyen Duc Tuy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, personally attended and presented precious gongs to the villagers to use in developing community tourism.
This meaningful gift has further motivated the people to boost tourism activities, gradually improve their lives, and at the same time preserve and promote their traditional cultural identity.
