(ABO) On the afternoon of July 23, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment (DARD) of Dong Thap province, Nguyen Duc Thinh, inspected the work of overcoming the consequences, visited and encouraged people whose houses were damaged by storms and tornadoes.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Thinh inspected the damage recovery work caused by storms in Ba Sao commune.

Accordingly, comrade Nguyen Duc Thinh surveyed the areas affected by the storm, visited and encouraged households whose houses were damaged in Ba Sao commune, My Ngai ward, Dong Thap province. At the same time, he visited the forces on duty to help people repair their houses, move their belongings, etc.

During the inspection, comrade Nguyen Duc Thinh requested that localities continue to monitor the situation of people whose houses were damaged by storms. At the same time, urgently deploy plans to support people to repair their houses and stabilize their lives soon.

Previously, according to a quick report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment on the damage caused by rain and thunderstorms from 4:00 p.m. on July 22 to 10:30 a.m. on July 23, heavy rain and thunderstorms occurred in the communes of Thanh My, Doc Binh Kieu, Tan Phu, Ba Sao, Thap Muoi and My Ngai ward.

Specifically, the storm injured 17 people; collapsed 44 houses; and blew off the roofs of 243 houses. The storm also damaged 142 durian trees and 260 jackfruit trees.

Immediately after the incident, the People's Committees of communes and wards deployed measures and forces to support people in repairing houses damaged by thunderstorms.
