On the morning of August 19, Comrade Tong Quang Thin, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, received Professor Shigeru Satoh, honorary professor of Waseda University, former Director of the Institute of Urban and Regional Studies, former President of the Japan Architectural Institute.
Also attending the reception were Associate Professor, Dr. Tong Trung Tin, Chairman of the Vietnam Archaeological Association; leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports ; Department of Construction; Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Office of the Provincial People's Committee.
Expressing his joy at welcoming Professor Shigeru Satoh, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee briefly introduced the province's strategic geographical location and historical and cultural traditions. More than 1,000 years ago, this was the capital of Dai Co Viet State, the first centralized feudal state of Vietnam.
In recent years, Ninh Binh has grown strongly, becoming a province that balances its budget, is regulated by the Central Government, and ranks 12th in the country in terms of per capita income. Ninh Binh continues to focus on rapid and sustainable economic development, with a "green" development model, taking tourism as the spearhead, taking cultural industry associated with heritage economy as a breakthrough, taking high-tech industry as the driving force, agriculture as the pillar, striving to build Ninh Binh into a millennium heritage city, a creative city; an innovative startup center of the southern provinces of the Red River Delta; a large center with high brand value in tourism, cultural industry, heritage economy of the whole country and the Asia-Pacific region.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that Professor Shigeru Satoh, a pioneer in the field of archaeology, specializing in community-based heritage urban development to improve environmental construction activities, will give Ninh Binh province his dedicated opinions and share valuable experiences in urban planning, conservation and promotion of heritage values, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, attracting tourism , so that Ninh Binh province can gradually build a successful millennium heritage city, a center of innovation in the future.
Thanking the warm welcome of the leaders of Ninh Binh province, Professor Shigeru Satoh said: He has over 20 years of supporting, consulting, and helping with archaeological research of heritage in Hue Citadel of Vietnam. Expressing his impression of the harmonious combination of cultural heritage, landscapes and water in ancient architectures in Hoa Lu ancient capital of Ninh Binh province, he said that the potential for exploitation is still rich and abundant, this is also an opportunity for Ninh Binh to attract more international researchers, professors, and scientists in archaeology to research, join hands with the province to enrich the unique cultural and historical values of the ancient capital with more than 1,000 years of history, serving well the work of planning, preserving and promoting heritage values, and promoting tourism development.
Professor Shigeru Satoh also expressed his thoughts when he realized that there are many similarities in culture, people, and history between Vietnam and Japan, so the way Vietnam and Japan view the world has many similarities. He hopes to have many opportunities to research and learn about the reality in Ninh Binh, join hands with scientists and consultants to share experiences, and help the province promote its strengths, preserve and promote the heritage values of the ancient capital.
At the reception, Comrade Tong Quang Thin, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presented Professor Shigeru Satoh with a souvenir of Bo Bat ceramic products and invited the professor to spend time visiting some historical and cultural relics and typical tourist areas of Ninh Binh on the occasion of his visit to Ninh Binh.
