VFF leaders encourage Vietnam women's team before 2024 Olympic qualifiers

On behalf of the coaching staff, head coach Mai Duc Chung reported on the preparation plan of the Vietnamese women's team before the second qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics. During the half-month training session, the team practiced tactics to suit the opponents they will face such as Uzbekistan, India and Japan.

Regarding the squad, coach Mai Duc Chung said the team has finalized the list of 22 players to leave for Uzbekistan tonight. Among them, midfielder Thai Thi Thao is practicing to recover from an injury after surgery. In addition, striker Huynh Nhu will also join the home team in Uzbekistan. Mr. Mai Duc Chung affirmed that the team will show determination, calmness, and confidence before each match. The Vietnamese female players will play their best for the country.

Speaking and encouraging the Vietnamese women's team, VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu affirmed that the Vietnamese women's players have shown professionalism in a year filled with major tournaments from regional, continental to world levels . He hopes that with the rejuvenation of the force, the Vietnamese women's team will have a good experience in the second qualifying round of the 2024 Olympics. This is also an opportunity for young talents to mature, aiming for the 2027 Women's World Cup Finals. Vice President Tran Anh Tu affirmed that VFF always creates the best conditions and trusts the Vietnamese women's team.

The Vietnamese women's team will play against Uzbekistan on October 26, India on October 29 and Japan on November 1 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The team's goal is to finish second in the group and strive to become the second-best team to enter the third qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
