Lao Cai: All bodies of victims in landslide found in A Lu commune

Currently, in Bat Xat district, there are still 2 people missing due to landslides and floods that have not been found. Of which, Sang Ma Sao commune has 1 victim, SAT, residing in Ma Mu Su II village and another person, LVN, residing in Cua Cai village, Muong Vi commune. Both are missing due to floods in Ta Le village, Trung Leng Ho commune.

According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Bat Xat district, floods and landslides from September 1-13 killed 15 people, left 2 missing, and injured 8 people. As of 2:00 p.m. on September 13, Bat Xat district forces had found 15 out of 17 people who died and went missing due to landslides and floods. Although the search and rescue work encountered many difficulties, the forces are focusing on finding the remaining missing victims. Along with searching for missing victims, the local government is currently coordinating with the forces to continue supporting people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and stabilize their lives.

Previously, due to the influence of storm No. 3, in the early morning of September 9, in Phin Chai 2 village, A Lu commune, a landslide occurred in the houses of 4 households, causing 7 people to go missing. Immediately after receiving the information, Lao Cai province directed Bat Xat district to send forces to the landslide site, and directed A Lu commune to coordinate with the police and Y Ty Border Guard Station to organize a search for the victims.

However, at the time of the landslide, it was still raining heavily, causing landslides in many areas, cutting off traffic, making it difficult to search and rescue. The working group led by Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong and other functional forces wanted to reinforce and support the rescue but encountered many difficulties and could not reach the scene. The functional forces then had to travel by river and then continue by motorbike for nearly a day to reach the scene of the landslide in A Lu commune.
