This is one of the meaningful activities towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

In the history of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press, Saigon is a place that marks the public struggle newspapers of the Indochinese Communist Party. One of the typical newspapers that left a mark in the history of Vietnamese revolutionary press is the Dan Chung newspaper.

In 1938, at 43 Hamelin Street - Saigon (now 43 Le Thi Hong Gam), Dan Chung Newspaper was born.

From 1937 to 1939, the two General Secretaries of the Indochinese Communist Party, Ha Huy Tap and Nguyen Van Cu, together with the Editorial Board of 7 comrades, took turns directing the publication of the content of the Dan Chung Newspaper in Saigon; advocating and leading the Party's public press movement.

This is a sharp weapon that effectively encourages and supports the mass movement to fight for freedom, democracy, improve living conditions, fight against colonial reactionaries, fascism and war, leading to the birth of the Indochina Democratic Front.

On September 7, 1939, the French colonialists in Cochinchina ordered the newspaper to close, confiscated all assets, and arrested the Editorial Board.

After more than a year of existence, Dan Chung Newspaper has successfully fulfilled its historical mission: to be a forum for propagating Marxism-Leninism and the Party's revolutionary line to the public at home and abroad; to win the fight for freedom of speech, to contribute to enriching the Vietnamese language, and to contribute brilliant pages in the history of Vietnam's revolutionary press.

The birth of Dan Chung Newspaper was a milestone in the history and revolutionary journalism career of our Party before the August Revolution of 1945.

On November 16, 1988, the headquarters of Dan Chung newspaper was recognized as a National Historical Relic in Ho Chi Minh City by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).

The event of renovating and installing a new introduction board to the National Historical Relic at the headquarters of Dan Chung Newspaper is an opportunity to honor and preserve the historical value of the relic and to show gratitude to the contributions of journalists.
