Towards the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Co To district, on the afternoon of July 26, Co To district coordinated with the Institute of Human Geography to organize the first consultation workshop on the draft of the Co To district Gazetteer. Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Duc Cuong, Chairman of the Vietnam Historical Science Association; Dr. Nguyen Song Tung, Director of the Institute of Human Geography, attended the workshop.
Previously, the Institute of Human Geography signed a memorandum of understanding with Co To district on cooperation in compiling the Co To District Gazetteer, inviting experts to participate in drafting the main contents, organizing many activities such as field surveys, searching, collecting documents, materials, interviewing witnesses, organizing seminars and workshops to seek expert opinions.
The scientific consultation workshop is also one of the important activities for the drafting team of the Co To District Geographical Record to listen to comments from scientists, leaders, former local leaders of different periods and representatives of departments, agencies, units and localities in Co To district to complete the Co To District Geographical Record.
Presented in 6 main parts with nearly 1,000 pages, the book will be a valuable document to preserve and pass on to generations of Co To about the geography, history, culture, and people of the place where they live, while promoting the image of Co To from the past to the present to tourists interested in the green pearl in the middle of the Northeast sea and sky.
