Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that in the history of national construction, defense and development, Da Nang has always held an important position due to its geopolitical and geo-economic position, cultural factors and the people of Quang Nam. The Party and State highly appreciate the ardent patriotism, revolutionary heroism and great contributions of the army and people of Da Nang city in each glorious historical period of the Vietnamese nation.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the General Secretary commended and congratulated the impressive achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang City have achieved. The achievements are not only meaningful to the city but also contribute positively to the overall development of the region and the whole country.
The General Secretary stated that the strategic goals of national development have been and are posing many new requirements for the cause of innovation and socio-economic development, requiring the Party, State and people in general, and Da Nang in particular, to strive more strongly and resolutely. Da Nang City is facing new opportunities.
The Central Government has a lot of attention and expectations with many outstanding policies, mechanisms and incentives, especially the policy of arranging administrative units, expanding space, creating conditions for the city to develop quickly and sustainably on the basis of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. The Party Committee, government and people of the city must fully and deeply understand the role, strategic position, importance and responsibility of Da Nang in the Central Coast region and the whole country to strongly arouse the desire for development, the spirit of self-reliance, dynamism, creativity, daring to think and dare to do of cadres and party members, effectively exploiting specific mechanisms and policies, creating new momentum to develop Da Nang to its full potential.

The General Secretary emphasized that Da Nang must become an international trade center, an attractive destination for investors and tourists, a gathering place for talents and creative ideas, where tourism, ecological and cultural resources blend together to create attractiveness and unique identity, so that together with the capital Hanoi, the cities of Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong and Hue, it can be both a driving force for economic development of the whole country and a symbol and pride in overcoming difficulties and obstacles and successfully rising up of Vietnam. Da Nang City must respect, preserve, inherit and promote cultural and historical values and achievements; absolutely must not be subjective, satisfied and also must not be confused or worried about the difficulties and challenges that are arising.
Orienting tasks in the coming time, the General Secretary suggested that the city focus on building a streamlined Party Committee and political system that operates effectively, efficiently and friendly; consolidating solidarity and unity within the Party Committee and the entire political system, and consensus among the people. In particular, the city needs to identify the restructuring of the political system and the restructuring of administrative units as an important revolution that needs to be carried out resolutely and urgently.
Proactively prepare the mindset and conditions to ensure timely and effective implementation of the arrangement of administrative units at all levels as soon as there is an official policy from the Central Government, avoiding passivity, interruption, and affecting the implementation of political tasks, especially in the work of leading, directing, and operating socio-economic development, and handling administrative procedures for people and businesses. Preparing and organizing well the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term is truly a broad political activity in the entire Party and people.
The General Secretary requested that the city systematically, synchronously and effectively implement the Central's resolutions, policies and orientations on building and developing Da Nang, associated with innovation in thinking, strategic vision, and determination to realize development aspirations; fully and accurately identify potentials and advantages to proactively research and propose to the Central to perfect institutions, issue mechanisms and policies, and create new development space and driving forces. Effectively implement the Da Nang City Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050; organize and arrange suitable socio-economic activities for rapid and sustainable development of sectors and fields. Focus on mobilizing resources to invest in developing the city's key sectors.
Believing that the key to Da Nang's success lies in its ability to awaken human potential, the General Secretary suggested that the city promote its cultural identity, revolutionary tradition, and the qualities of Quang people: self-reliance, self-confidence, creativity, and flexibility. In particular, it is necessary to encourage the spirit of dedication to the homeland and country, daring to think, daring to do, daring to innovate, acting decisively, and taking responsibility for the common good among local leaders, cadres, civil servants, and public employees.
The city needs to focus on developing high-quality human resources, especially attracting experts in the fields of technology, finance, and training highly skilled workers, considering this the most powerful weapon to change and develop Da Nang in the digital age and innovation.
Along with economic development, the Party Committee and the city government must pay special attention to developing Da Nang's culture and people. In investment and development, we must ensure sustainability in terms of nature. Continue to implement social security policies well, taking care of people's lives in conjunction with programs that are deeply humane and unique to the city. Maintain political security, order and social safety. Build a solid national defense posture, a people's security posture, and a strong people's heart posture.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Party and State, General Secretary To Lam awarded the First Class Labor Medal to the Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang city for their outstanding achievements in digital transformation, tourism development, social security, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.
Earlier, delivering a speech at the Commemoration Ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Van Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, reviewed the glorious historical tradition of his hometown Da Nang. The liberation day of Da Nang City on March 29, 1975 was recorded in history as a brilliant milestone, a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism; demonstrating the intelligence and bravery of the Vietnamese people in general, and the people of Da Nang in particular, and the crystallization of the best values of the heroic Vietnamese nation.
Those feats originated from the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the great President Ho Chi Minh, with the independent, autonomous, correct and creative revolutionary line and method; from the spirit of "bravely and steadfastly taking the lead in fighting the French and destroying the Americans" of the Party Committee, army and people of Da Nang, which further embellished the revolutionary tradition, becoming invaluable baggage, a spiritual support for Da Nang to steadily move forward.
He affirmed that, looking back on the journey with countless difficulties and challenges but very glorious, he has more confidence and pride in the glorious Party, in the heroic historical tradition of the nation, of the homeland and the country. Representing the veterans who participated in the war, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tuan, former Director of the Propaganda Department, General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, shared emotional memories of the heroic days of the nation.
He said that since the city's liberation, veterans have shared the joy of the city's development, reminding and encouraging each other to promote the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers, taking the lead in implementing and educating their children and grandchildren to strictly follow the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, and local tasks.
At the same time, we hope and believe that today's and future generations will promote the tradition of the City Party Committee, the tradition of the brave and resilient homeland, build a city rich in economy, strong in national defense and security, with an advanced cultural life imbued with identity, with a rapid growth rate, worthy of being a livable city, and together with the whole country, firmly step into a new era, an era of national growth.
On behalf of the city's youth, Huynh Nguyen Yen Nhi, a student at the University of Economics, University of Da Nang, affirmed that half a century has passed since Da Nang was liberated. Although the young generation was born when the country was at peace, they have never forgotten the great sacrifices of their predecessors. The young generation of Da Nang has grown up amidst the challenges of the times, clearly demonstrating their responsibility, contributing to the development of Da Nang through initiatives, works, scientific research, creative start-up projects or meaningful volunteer activities. Every young person of Da Nang today, whether a student, worker, intellectual or soldier, carries within them the desire to contribute, the spirit of initiative, constantly studying and training to contribute to the development of the city and the country.
