Candle lighting ceremony to commemorate the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day

(Quang Binh Portal) - On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), on the evening of July 27, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee solemnly organized a candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at Ba Doc Martyrs Cemetery.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Long Hai, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc, and comrades in the Standing Committee, Executive Committee, and leaders of the Party Committee's units of the Central Enterprises Bloc. On the side of the leaders of Quang Binh province, there were comrade Tran Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee of the People's Council, People's Committee, National Assembly Delegation of the province, Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; leaders of the provincial People's Armed Forces; representatives of the leaders of departments, branches, sectors, provincial-level unions, central agencies located in the province, leaders of Dong Hoi city, Bo Trach district and more than 1,000 union members and youth representing the youth of the Central Enterprises Bloc and Quang Binh province.

At the ceremony, delegates performed the bell-ringing ceremony, laid wreaths on the Memorial, offered incense and observed a minute of silence to express their respect, gratitude and remembrance of the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the cause of fighting for national independence and reunification.

Take a moment of silence to express respect and deep gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of the heroic martyrs.

Immediately after the ceremony, leaders, delegates, union members and youths came to offer incense at each grave of the heroic martyrs.

On this occasion, the Central Business Bloc presented the project "Lighting up the Countryside" with a total length of 04 km, worth 120 million VND; Vietnam Tobacco Corporation supported the construction of 05 "love houses" with a total value of 250 million VND and presented gifts to former youth volunteers, policy families, families with meritorious services to the revolution and students with difficult circumstances in the province.

Every July, the activities of “Repaying gratitude” and “Drinking water, remembering its source” are widely organized by young people across the country. Through specific actions and deeds, Vietnamese youth wearing green volunteer shirts have organized many meaningful activities, supporting, helping and encouraging policy beneficiaries, thereby ensuring that they have a stable material life and a joyful spirit. This is also an opportunity for all classes of people, especially the young generation, to express their deep gratitude for the great sacrifices of previous generations in the struggle for independence and freedom for the Fatherland.
