
According to VNA, in Rome, in a solemn and emotional atmosphere, officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy, the Trade Office and the VNA Resident Office in Italy led by Ambassador Duong Hai Hung observed a minute of silence to commemorate former President Tran Duc Luong.
In the condolence book, representatives of the local government and embassies in Italy expressed their condolences over the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong and sent their deepest condolences to his family, as well as the Party, State and people of Vietnam.

On behalf of the Government and People of Myanmar, Ms. Hmway Howay Khyne - Myanmar Ambassador to Italy - wrote: “We would like to express our deepest condolences to the Government and People of Vietnam. The tireless service, devotion, and important leadership role of former President Tran Duc Luong to the country remains a historical legacy to inspire future generations. May his great soul rest in eternal peace!”

To acknowledge the affection and respect of international friends and the Vietnamese community, the memorial service and condolence book in memory of comrade Tran Duc Luong will continue to be held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy until May 25. At the same time, the Embassy will also open an electronic condolence book.
* According to VNA, at the United Nations (UN), on the afternoon of May 23 in New York, the US (morning of May 24, Hanoi time), the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the UN solemnly held a memorial service for former President Tran Duc Luong, with the participation of the entire leadership, staff, and staff of the Delegation and Vietnamese representative agencies in New York.

Speaking at the Memorial Ceremony, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang - Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the UN emotionally recalled the milestones in the life and career of former President Tran Duc Luong, especially his important contributions to the cause of innovation, integration and development of the country.
Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang expressed his utmost appreciation for former President Tran Duc Luong's interest and close attention to foreign affairs in general and multilateral diplomacy in particular, including activities at the United Nations. In September 2000, former President Tran Duc Luong led the Vietnamese delegation to attend the UN Millennium Conference in New York.

In front of the portrait of former President Tran Duc Luong, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang affirmed that all leaders, officers and staff of the Delegation and representative agencies of Vietnam in New York vow to continue to unite and strive to fulfill all assigned tasks, contributing to constantly enhancing the country's position and role in the international arena.

To facilitate the diplomatic corps, citizens, and the Vietnamese community in the host country to express their condolences and gratitude to former President Tran Duc Luong, the Condolence Book will be open at the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations until May 27, 2025.
* On the afternoon of May 24 (local time), in the capital Algiers, the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria solemnly held a memorial service and opened a condolence book in memory of former President Tran Duc Luong.
According to VNA, in Algiers, during the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Tran Quoc Khanh, along with all staff of the Embassy, agencies affiliated to the Embassy such as the Military Service, the Commercial Service, the VNA Resident Office in Algiers and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the country observed a minute of silence to commemorate and bid farewell to former President Tran Duc Luong - who made great and profound contributions to the cause of national construction and defense in many fields, especially in the key period of the renovation and international integration.
Writing in the condolence book, Ambassador Tran Quoc Khanh expressed his deep emotion and gratitude for the great contributions of former President Tran Duc Luong. Ambassador Tran Quoc Khanh emphasized: “Comrade Tran Duc Luong was a staunch revolutionary, a shrewd scientist, a leader who always worried about the interests of the nation and people. Throughout his life of revolutionary activities, he made many great contributions to the cause of national development, enhancing the image and international position of Vietnam”.
On the first day of opening the condolence book, the funeral welcomed representatives of embassies of friendly countries such as the Russian Federation, China and North Korea to express their condolences and sign the condolence book. Chinese Ambassador to Algeria Dong Quang Loi wrote in the condolence book: “President Tran Duc Luong made many important contributions to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China. In this moment of sorrow, we would like to express our deepest condolences to his family and the Vietnamese people.”
It is expected that the ceremony to pay respects and register the condolence book for former President Tran Duc Luong at the Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria will take place until noon on May 26 to welcome representatives of local agencies and organizations, diplomatic corps of countries in Algeria, overseas Vietnamese and friends who love Vietnam to express their condolences and commemorate.
