SVVN – Studying history used to be labeled as “dry” because of the vast amount of information contained in the pages of books. But now, there are more ways to approach history, making the subject more interesting and closer to young people.

Since November 1, the Vietnam Military History Museum has opened its doors to visitors. Thanks to information spread on social networks in advance, especially through the youth information channel Schannel, many young people came to the museum early on the first day of opening.

According to veteran Nguyen Tran, 89 years old this year, the Vietnam Military History Museum can be considered a “comprehensive academy” that educates the younger generation in all aspects, so that young people can better understand the traditional history of the nation, especially the history of the heroic Vietnam People’s Army. He advised: “Students must always promote the precious traditions of the nation, now they must do good business , improve their scientific and technological level to stand shoulder to shoulder with other countries in the world.”

Previously, in early 2024, the film Dao, Pho and Piano caused a fever all over social networks, causing box office revenue to increase to a record level, especially for the category of films invested by the State. It was possible to see the crowded scene of young people lining up to buy tickets at the National Cinema, but extremely civilized and polite to be able to see this film.
Young people flocked to the theater to see Dao, Pho and Piano. |
The script of Dao, Pho and Piano is set in the context of the 60-day and night winter-spring battle from late 1946 to early 1947 in Hanoi. The story follows the militiaman Van Dan (played by Doan Quoc Dam) and his love story with the piano-loving young lady Thuc Huong (played by Cao Thi Thuy Linh). When the others have evacuated to the war zone, they decide to stay in the capital that has been devastated by bombs, despite the dangers that lie ahead. The film "touches" the emotions of the audience in the most natural way and is not too dogmatic, making it an unprecedented "hot" for historical films that are considered to be picky about viewers.
Not only Dao, Pho and Piano , in 2024, Vietnam marked many "trends" expressing the patriotism of young people. On the occasion of the big holiday celebrating the North - South reunion day April 30 - May 1, the transformation trend with the background music "Don't ask what the country has done for us" also spread across all platforms. The heroic sound evokes the spirit of youth along with the "visual" familiar to young people such as the Youth Union shirt, floppy hat, white ao dai, ... makes it easy for viewers to follow and has a strong influence.
On September 2nd, the trend of painting flags on rooftops also became popular on social media, attracting a large number of people to follow and spread. Rapper Phao also followed the trend by painting a small red flag with a yellow star on the wall of his balcony.

Thuy Khanh, currently a student at the National Economics University, shared: “I find the recent patriotic trends very interesting, simple and anyone can participate. It helps us feel closer to the country's big holidays like September 2nd, like it's a special way to say 'I'm proud to be Vietnamese'. Thanks to that, I feel people are more connected to each other."
