The 2023 U23 Doha Cup international friendly tournament has the participation of 10 U23 teams including: Vietnam, Thailand, Iraq, UAE, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and host Qatar.

Teams are paired to play two matches in the group stage, then ranked based on their performance to arrange the pairs in the final round.

This is considered a very high quality tournament with the participation of strong teams from West Asia, East Asia and Southeast Asia.

The diversity in playing styles of opponents from different regions of Asia in this tournament will clearly bring valuable experiences to coach Philippe Troussier and his team in the process of preparing for important goals ahead.

According to the schedule, U23 Vietnam will meet the Iraq team at 2:45 a.m. on March 23 and meet U23 UAE at 0:30 a.m. on March 26 (Vietnam time).

Coach Philippe Troussier and his students left for Qatar on March 18.
