Many large wild animals, such as "stray" reticulated pythons, were captured by people in Hue and handed over to forest rangers to be released back into the wild.

On February 19, the Phu Loc District Forest Protection Department (Hue City) received a rare wild animal named a reticulated python voluntarily handed over by local residents.

The person who handed over this reticulated python was Mr. Le Vien (residing in Loc Son commune, Phu Loc district). The reticulated python weighed 3 kg and was in normal health.

Previously, Mr. Le Vien discovered a reticulated python crawling into his family's garden in Loc Son commune. Knowing that this was a rare wild animal, Mr. Vien captured the reticulated python and contacted the forest rangers to hand it over for release into the wild.

Previously, Phu Loc District Forest Protection Department also received many rare reticulated pythons from local people.

Among them, there is a reticulated python received from Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan (residing in Loc An commune, Phu Loc district), a reticulated python received from Mr. Ho Duc Hau (residing in Loc An commune) and a reticulated python received from Mr. Truong Vinh (residing in Giang Hai commune).

The reticulated python has the scientific name Python reticulatus, belonging to the List of endangered, precious, and rare forest animals, group IIB, as stipulated in Decree No. 84/2021/ND-CP dated September 22, 2021 of the Government on amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 06/2019/ND-CP dated January 22, 2019 of the Government on management of endangered, precious, and rare forest plants and animals.
