Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank - Sacombank (STB) has just updated the list of shareholders owning 1% of the bank's charter capital.

The list has just been announced, there are only 6 shareholders holding 1% or more of capital at STB, instead of 7 as announced more than 1 month ago.

Accordingly, the KIM Vietnam Growth Equity Fund, which previously held more than 19.2 million shares (equivalent to 1.02%), is no longer on this list.

STB's shareholder list on May 8

It is known that KIM Vietnam Growth Equity Fund is an open-end stock fund, managed by KIM Vietnam Fund Management Company Limited. KIM Vietnam is a member of Korea Investment Management (KIM), entering the Vietnamese market since 2006.

By 2020, KIM Vietnam Fund Management Company Limited was officially established with operating license No. 59 issued by the State Securities Commission of Vietnam.

Notably, the appearance of this fund from Korea lasted just over a month in the list of shareholders holding over 1% of the capital of the bank chaired by Mr. Duong Cong Minh.

Meanwhile, Pyn Elite Fund - one of the largest foreign funds in the Vietnamese stock market - continuously reduced its investment proportion in STB.

Specifically, this "shark" only holds 108.73 million shares, equivalent to 5.77% of STB's capital. Previously, in December last year, this fund held a ratio of up to 6.68%, and by March 2025 it had dropped to 5.77%.

In addition to Pyn Elite Fund, Tianhong Vietnam Thematic Fund (QDII) - a fund from China - also only holds 22.2 million shares, equivalent to 1.18% of Sacombank's capital as of May 8, 2025.

This level is down more than 2 million shares from the last announcement in late March.

SCB Vietnam Alpha Fund Not For Retail Investors also only owns nearly 27.8 million shares, equivalent to 1.47% of Sacombank's capital, down from the previous rate of 1.57%.

On the contrary, in February this year, another fund, Norges Bank, reduced its ownership ratio from 1.27% to 1.1% of Sacombank's capital. However, in the recently announced list, Norges Bank raised its ratio to 1.27%.

Meanwhile, the only individual shareholder holding more than 1% of STV's capital is Mr. Duong Cong Minh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sacombank, who still holds 62.57 million STB shares, equivalent to 3.32% of the bank's capital. People related to Mr. Minh also hold more than 11.85 million STB shares - equivalent to 0.63% of capital.

In total, the 6 shareholders (5 organizations and 1 individual) above own more than 264.1 million shares, equivalent to 14.01% of Sacombank's capital.

Sacombank shares increased more than 20% after 1 month

The move to reduce capital and divest from STB by some funds took place in the context of this stock increasing quite well in recent times. In the past month, STB has increased by more than 20%, to 39,750 VND/share.

During the April 9 session, when the entire market was sold off due to the tariff news, STB shares also "fell" to 33,100 VND, then quickly increased. Profit-taking activities took place completely normally after a period of stock price increase.

However, many securities companies still estimate the reasonable price for STB shares to be VND46,136/share.
