Regarding the damage caused by the recent typhoon Yagi, Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio sent a message of condolences to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on September 10.
"I am deeply saddened to hear that recently, storm No. 3 (storm Yagi ) with heavy rain and strong winds made landfall in Vietnam, killing many Vietnamese people and causing heavy damage," the condolence message said.
On behalf of the Government and people of Japan, the Prime Minister of Japan expressed his deep condolences to the victims who died in the typhoon and their families, and sent his most sincere condolences to the people affected by the typhoon.
"As a close friend of the Vietnamese people, from the bottom of my heart, I hope that the localities in Vietnam affected by the storm will soon overcome difficulties, restore production, and return people's lives to normal. I would like to share that the Japanese Government always stands with Vietnam and is ready to support Vietnam's necessary needs to the best of its ability," the Japanese Prime Minister said in his message of condolences.
On September 11, Japanese Foreign Minister Kamiyawa Yoko also sent a telegram of condolences to Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, to express condolences for the losses in Vietnam after storm No. 3 (storm Yagi).
The Japanese Foreign Minister also affirmed that the Japanese Government always stands with Vietnam, regardless of any necessary cooperation and support for Vietnam.
"From the bottom of my heart, I pray that the localities in Vietnam affected by the storm will soon overcome difficulties, restore production, and people's lives will soon return to normal," Minister Kamiyawa Yoko shared in a message of condolences.
In a related development, responding to the call of the Vietnamese Government, the Japanese Government, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), on September 11 decided to provide emergency relief supplies (water filtration equipment, multi-functional plastic sheets) to overcome the damage caused by the storm in Vietnam.
Based on the humanitarian spirit and friendly relations between Japan and Vietnam, the Japanese Government has decided to deliver emergency aid to help people in the affected areas overcome the consequences of natural disasters, according to an announcement from the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam.
