Rasmus Hojlund's future at Old Trafford is in big question. |
On the morning of July 31, the match at Soldier Field saw Manchester United enter the match with great enthusiasm, when Hojlund opened the score in the 5th minute with a skillful header. Manchester Evening News rated Hojlund as one of the 3 "Red Devils" players who deserved to receive the highest score of the match (8 points), with a positive performance.
Apart from the Danish striker, only goalkeeper Tom Heaton and defender Patrick Dorgu also received 8 points. This is the second consecutive match that Hojlund has played well for Manchester United. Previously, in the 2-1 victory over West Ham in the US, the Danish striker did not score but had many brilliant moves, showing that his confidence has returned.
The win over Bournemouth not only helped Manchester United strengthen their morale ahead of the new season but also demonstrated the change under coach Amorim. And Hojlund was one of the positive highlights.
While there is still work to be done, this performance shows that the "Red Devils" and Hojlund personally are making progress before the 2025/26 Premier League kicks off on August 16. Hojlund's resurgence comes as United are desperate to bring in a truly classy "number 9" this summer.
The "Red Devils" leadership is considering many targets such as Benjamin Sesko, Nicolas Jackson or even Watkins. Therefore, Hojlund needs to prove that he is worthy of coach Ruben Amorim's continued trust in Manchester United's attack.
