Long An currently has 17 industrial clusters in operation.
The plan closely follows the Industrial Cluster Development Plan in Long An province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister in 2023 and the Provincial People's Committee issued an implementation plan on July 15, 2024.
Accordingly, Long An focuses on concretizing support mechanisms and policies, removing difficulties and obstacles in investment, promoting and attracting investment in developing infrastructure for industrial clusters according to planning, meeting the requirements of industrial and handicraft production development and solving environmental pollution problems.
The province strives to achieve the following goals by the end of 2025: 100% of operating industrial clusters will have synchronous technical infrastructure investment and management in accordance with legal regulations; 100% of industrial clusters will build and issue regulations on management of public service provision and common utilities.
At the same time, complete the centralized wastewater treatment system at the Hoang Gia industrial cluster; complete procedures and start construction of infrastructure for 2 to 5 new industrial clusters. The province also aims to establish 5 new industrial clusters by the end of 2025.
The Provincial People's Committee requires investors of industrial clusters to fully perform their responsibilities in implementing technical infrastructure construction investment projects according to the establishment decision and approved detailed planning, ensuring progress and quality of the project.
For industrial clusters that have come into operation, investors must develop and approve regulations on management of public service provision, common utilities, infrastructure service prices, wastewater treatment service prices, etc. in accordance with regulations. At the same time, regularly renovate, upgrade, and maintain technical infrastructure; strictly manage the activities of secondary investors in the industrial cluster.
At the same time, proactively call for, attract, and receive investment projects in industrial clusters based on detailed planning and approved industries to ensure compliance with regulations; prioritize investors and projects using new and high technology, and production households in craft villages, minimizing environmental pollution. Coordinate in providing data to organizations and individuals operating in production and business in industrial clusters; support and facilitate enterprises in industrial clusters to carry out digital transformation according to the province's plan.
According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, the province has planned 72 industrial clusters, of which 17 are already in operation (857 hectares), 27 are carrying out investment procedures (1,324 hectares) and building technical infrastructure; 28 are newly planned in the period 2021-2030 (1,808 hectares). The currently operating industrial clusters have an occupancy rate of up to 84.21%./.
