Brigade 175 sponsors the child of a struggling fisherman in Ca Mau.

On May 30th, in Phan Ngoc Hien Commune (Ca Mau Province), Brigade 175 (Naval Region 5), in coordination with the local Party committee, government, and Bong Van Dia Secondary School, held a ceremony to announce and present the decision to implement the "Navy Sponsorship of Fishermen's Children" program.

According to the published decision, Hong Cat Tuong (born in 2014, residing in Rach Goc A hamlet, Phan Ngoc Hien commune, Ca Mau province) will be sponsored by Brigade 175 from June 1, 2026 until she reaches 18 years old, with a support amount of 500,000 VND per month.

In addition to the regular monthly support, Brigade 175 will coordinate with the local authorities and the school to provide both material and spiritual care, helping the student to focus on their studies and strive for a better life.

Hong Cat Tuong's family is in difficult circumstances. Her father, Hong Hoang Tuan, is a fisherman who frequently goes out to sea for work; her mother works as a factory worker far from home. They have four children, including their eldest daughter who suffers from cerebral palsy. The family faces many hardships.

Officers from Brigade 175, along with the homeroom teacher, visited and encouraged Hong Cat Tuong at her family home.

The sponsorship of Hong Cat Tuong demonstrates the affection and responsibility of the officers and soldiers of Brigade 175 towards the children of fishermen in difficult circumstances in the area. This contributes to strengthening military-civilian solidarity, spreading the spirit of sharing, and providing motivation for students to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.
