International visitors' searches for Vietnam tourism increased by 10-25%

According to data compiled from the Google Destination Insights travel trend tracking tool, international searches for Vietnam tourism have grown by about 10-25% since the beginning of 2025, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.

Vietnam currently ranks 7th in the list of countries searched for tourism. Vietnam is also the only destination in Southeast Asia in the Top 10 searched, surpassing many countries in the region such as: Philippines (ranked 18th), Singapore (25th), Thailand (36th), Indonesia (37th), Malaysia (39th).

With a flexible visa policy, a diverse and high-class tourism product system, and an expanding international flight network, Vietnam is becoming a bright spot on the world tourism map, loved and chosen by international tourists. These are positive signals, creating a foundation for the tourism industry to be able to complete the goal of welcoming 22-23 million international visitors in 2025.

According to statistics, the Top 10 cities in Vietnam that are most searched by international tourists include: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Vung Tau, Da Lat, Phan Thiet, Hue. Meanwhile, Vung Tau and Ninh Binh are the cities with the highest growth in searches (up over 75%). The markets that are searching the most for information about Vietnam tourism are: the United States, India, Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, England, Taiwan, Malaysia, Hong Kong (China).

Some factors that make Vietnam a favorite and attractive destination for international tourists are: Diversity and attractiveness of products, from cultural, natural, island, and city tourism, to new products such as agricultural tourism, railway, health care, sports, etc.

Mr. Magnus Myreen (a Swedish tourist) said that Vietnam has diverse natural landscapes, rich culture and history, unique cuisine, reasonable travel costs, and the hospitality and friendliness of the people. These are the basic factors for foreign tourists to choose Vietnam as a destination when looking for tourism in Southeast Asian countries.

According to Claire Brew - a British tourist who spent a month traveling in Vietnam, Vietnam's natural landscape is extremely diverse, stretching from North to South, each region has its own unique characteristics, creating a special attraction for international tourists.

"The majestic limestone mountains in Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh) create a mysterious and beautiful landscape, especially the cruise activities to explore caves and participate in sea sports that leave many unforgettable impressions on visitors. In the Northwest, Sa Pa town (Lao Cai) has green terraced fields, surrounded by high mountains and a cool climate. Here, visitors can enjoy a peaceful space, separate from the hustle and bustle of life. Going to the South, the ancient capital of Hue, the coastal city of Da Nang makes visitors stay for 2-3 days but still want to come back to learn, explore and experience more about sea tourism, Vietnamese cuisine and especially culture and history. Continuing to Nha Trang, Binh Thuan, Ho Chi Minh City... each destination has its own unique features that make the journey of visitors full of excitement", Ms. Claire shared.

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, currently, Vietnam's tourism infrastructure is increasingly invested in and developed synchronously and modernly; air, road and sea transportation are convenient, including the expansion of direct flights connecting major cities in the world with Vietnam... creating favorable conditions for international tourists to access Vietnam. In particular, Vietnam's increasingly open visa and immigration policies, and the stable security and order situation in Vietnam are the top important factors for international tourists to choose a destination. In addition, the tourism industry is always actively implementing tourism promotion campaigns in key markets, promoting the image and brand of Vietnam's tourism to international tourists.
