On October 11, at Fahasa Tan Dinh Bookstore, Kim Dong Publishing House in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Book Distribution Joint Stock Company (Fahasa) organized the talk show Forever Twenty on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the publication. The guest was journalist Trung Nghia, Ho Chi Minh City Reading Culture Ambassador for the 2023-2024 term; writer Bui Tieu Quyen, a Ho Chi Minh City Reading Culture Ambassador, was the host of the program.

Forever Twenty is the original diary entitled Life Story , consisting of about 240 handwritten pages, recorded by martyr Nguyen Van Thac from October 2, 1971 to early June 1972, from the time he joined the army until the day before he went to the battlefield in Quang Tri. He wrote during night shifts, on the march, on the train, in the countryside of Bac Giang , Bac Ninh, Ha Tinh... Amidst the smoke and fire of war, each line was still filled with love for life, youthful aspirations and the ideal of dedication to the Fatherland.

First launched in 2005, Forever Twenty became a typical cultural and social event, was awarded the Special Prize - the first Vietnam Book Award, and sparked the movement "Carrying on the Fire of Tradition" among youth and veterans nationwide. In this comeback, Forever Twenty was made with two hardcover and paperback editions. Of which, the special edition is made of hardcover, supplemented with photos, handwritten letters and autographs of martyr Nguyen Van Thac with support from his family. This edition is published by Fahasa exclusively in the bookstore system.

According to journalist Trung Nghia, more than a publishing phenomenon, the diary Forever Twenty has had a strong, positive impact on the hearts of millions of people, many young people of many different generations, and until today. The reason the book has such a strong effect is because of its purity, love for the homeland, love for family, and for the girl he loves, written very sincerely through the diary genre.

Relating the example of “forever twenty” of martyr Nguyen Van Thac to the youth of today, especially in the context of the country entering an era of growth, journalist Trung Nghia said that the ideals, spirit, and fire of the 20s of Nguyen Van Thac or the previous generation are still continued by the youth of today. That continuation is the way the youth strive to study, practice, become a good citizen for society, contribute to the country, to their locality.
“We must continue to write the story of peace in a way that is worthy of the sacrifices of Nguyen Van Thac, Dang Thuy Tram, and many other generations of our ancestors, so that the country can have the independence and freedom it has today,” journalist Trung Nghia expressed.
