The friendly match between Man United and the ASEAN All-Stars team will take place on the evening of May 28.
According to the Malay Mail, about 70,000 fans are expected to flock to Bukit Jalil Stadium (Malaysia) to watch the match.
Malaysian police are stepping up security measures ahead of the event, with Cheras district police chief Aidil Bolhassan saying all gates to the stadium will be opened from 5:30 p.m.
Strict security checks, including body and bag searches, will be carried out both before and after entering the stadium.
Mr. Aidil emphasized the list of prohibited items to be brought into the stadium, including: firecrackers, fireworks, flares, helmets, laser lights, sharp objects, dangerous weapons, alcoholic beverages, umbrellas, walking sticks, power banks, water bottles, ice cubes, lighters, matches, cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, drones, loudspeakers and drums (without permission from the Malaysian Football League - MFL Organizing Committee).
To ensure smooth traffic, Mr Aidil advised people to use public transport to get to Bukit Jalil Stadium and avoid passing through the surrounding areas if they are not involved in the match.
"People are also requested to follow the instructions of the police force, maintain a polite attitude when participating in traffic and not to park on the roadside as cases of obstructing traffic will be fined and the vehicle may be towed away," Mr Aidil said in a statement today.
The Cheras district police chief warned that stern action would be taken against any individual or group found to be causing disturbances, riots or causing excessive provocation before, during and after the match.
The last time Man United played in Malaysia was during the summer tour in 2009. At that time, they had two victories against the Malaysian team with the scores of 3-2 (July 18) and 2-0 (July 20).
Coach Amorim's team just finished a terrible season in 15th place in the Premier League. They will continue their tour with a match against Hong Kong on May 30.
