The shirt color is said to be gloomy like the sky of the foggy country. |
The shirt and shorts feature a raindrop pattern on a grey background, symbolising the often overcast skies here, while the neon green panels on the collar and sides are designed to represent the spirit of “Man City delivering explosive football whatever the weather”.
The inside of the kit features the message: "Even if it rains, we shine." The kit will be used as an alternative to the black away kit worn at Palermo and will complement the new home shirt - which features a diagonal stripe on the front for the first time in the club's history.
Marco Mueller, Senior Director of Product Management for Puma Team Wear, said: “Football is in Manchester’s blood, both as a source of pride and as part of a community. This kit combines both to create a unique and distinctive design.
We decided to create a kit that not only celebrated Manchester's typical rainy weather, but also embodied the fans' spirit of standing by the team in the "Come Rain or Shine" spirit.
Man City had a dismal season when they failed to defend their English championship. Last season, Guardiola's team even came up empty-handed when they lost to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup. Even the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup was a great opportunity for Man City to show off, but Man City was eliminated by an Asian team. Man City fans hope their team will shine in the new season regardless of the color of the shirt.
