*Lion dance performance on Mai Hoa Thung by Nam Hoa Club (Binh Thuan)*

In the Lion Dance on Plum Blossom Valley (male category), this was the most exciting and anticipated event, with enthusiastic support from the fans. With a score of 9.28 points, Ho Chi Minh City 1 took first place and won the gold medal, while Nam Hoa (Binh Thuan), trailing by only 0.7 points, had to settle for second place with the silver medal. The Mieu 7 Ba Club (An Giang) and Ho Chi Minh City 2 shared third place, each winning a bronze medal.

With this gold medal, Ho Chi Minh City 1 secured first place overall with 4 gold medals and 1 silver medal; second place went to Tu Anh Duong Club ( Can Tho ) with 3 gold medals; and third place was shared by Nam Hoa Club and Tam Minh Phat Anh Club (Binh Thuan).

The 3rd National Lion and Dragon Dance Club Championship, 2023, featured the participation of 19 lion and dragon dance clubs from across the country, including Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Long, Binh Duong, Da Nang, An Giang, Dong Nai , Can Tho, Tay Ninh, Binh Thuan, etc. The clubs competed in 7 categories: Dragon Dance; Lion Dance on the Ground; Lion (or Dragon) Jumping on Platforms; Lion (or Dragon) Climbing a Pole (Individual); Lion (or Dragon) Climbing a Pole (Team); Lion (or Dragon) Climbing a Plum Blossom Platform (Female); and Lion (or Dragon) Climbing a Plum Blossom Platform (Male).

This is a national-level sporting event organized by the Department of Sports in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan province, in response to the 2023 National Tourism Year "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence". It also aims to promote the practice and competition of Lion and Dragon Dance to preserve and promote the unique cultural and sporting traditions of the nation; meet the people's needs for cultural and sporting enjoyment; and enhance understanding, exchange, and solidarity among localities nationwide.
