Defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final on May 22 has left Man Utd in a difficult financial situation heading into this summer.
The Old Trafford team hoped to pocket 100 million pounds from qualifying for the Champions League next season. But everything went up in smoke when they lost 0-1 to the "Roosters", forcing the "Red Devils" to sell star players to have a budget to rebuild the squad.

Accordingly, key players such as Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Andre Onana and Alejandro Garnacho could all have to leave this summer. Expensive strikers currently on loan at Man Utd clubs such as Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony could also be sold.
After the Europa League final, captain Bruno Fernandes also hinted at the possibility of leaving Old Trafford. The Portuguese midfielder said: "I have always been honest. I have always said that I will stay here until the club tells me it is time to go.
I am eager to do more, to bring great things to the club. Only when the club is tired of me or the time has come to say goodbye, will I leave. Football is like that, you never know. But I always say that and I am committed to keeping my promises."
The Red Devils have been linked with a move for a striker this summer, with Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres, RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Ipswich Town star Liam Delap among the targets.
But not being able to participate in any European competitions next season could see Ruben Amorim's side miss out on signing their favourite players and may have to turn to other options.
According to The Sun , players such as Lorenzo Lucca, Mateo Retegui, former Everton star Moise Kean and Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta are being considered as backup options.
Amid the chaos, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is said to still support coach Amorim, although the former Sporting Lisbon coach has not been able to rescue the team from the crisis. With Man Utd set to miss out on European competition for the first time in 10 years, the summer of 2025 promises to be an unprecedented radical overhaul at Old Trafford.
