Summer vacation is always the most anticipated time for students after a stressful year of studying, but it also poses many challenges in management, education and ensuring safety for students. The Department of Education and Training has directed schools to coordinate with families and society to implement many activities to bring a safe, meaningful and rewarding summer for students.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quang, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, said: The Department has issued guiding documents, assigning tasks to schools on handing over children and students to summer activities in the locality; strengthening coordination between schools and families, mass organizations, creating conditions for children and students to participate in cultural and artistic activities; physical training, life skills training; legal education activities on traffic safety; prevention of accidents, injuries, drowning and social evils. Instructing schools to proactively develop detailed and diverse summer activity plans, suitable to local practical conditions and students' ages.

Many schools have proactively organized gifted classes ( sports , arts), knowledge review or volunteer activities, attracting students to participate. Teacher Pham Dinh Dan, Vice Principal of Chieng Sinh High School, said: The school's Youth Union has organized volunteer activities, exam support, and mobilized students in grades 10 and 11 to participate, helping them have more meaningful activities during the summer. In addition, the school also requires homeroom teachers to increase their understanding of students' situations through Zalo and Facebook groups, to be proactive in mobilizing students to participate in programs jointly organized by the school.

At home, parents also proactively seek out suitable summer activities and supervise their children's recreational activities; encourage them to participate in housework, read books, and learn life skills. Ms. Pham Thi Thuy, Group 2, Chieng Coi Ward, has 2 children studying at secondary and primary school, shared: During the summer, I register my children for gifted classes according to their interests and physical activities to improve their health, helping them to rest, relax, and have the best physical and mental strength to enter the new school year.

Summer student management and education cannot be without the support of local organizations and unions in organizing playgrounds and community activities for students; propagating, checking and supervising safety in public areas such as rivers, lakes and parks. Among them, the Provincial Youth Activity Center, with many useful activities organized during the summer, has become a trusted address for parents to send their children to study and live.

Ms. Pham Ha Dan Huyen, Director of the Provincial Youth Activity Center, informed: With the theme "Fostering dreams - welcoming a brilliant summer", this summer, the Center opened gifted classes, with 22 subjects, attracting more than 1,500 children from 5 to 18 years old to participate. The Center has carefully prepared from facilities to a team of experienced coaches and teachers, guiding students, promoting their strengths and talents.

In the communes in the Son La hydroelectric reservoir area, the management of students during the summer is also focused on by schools in coordination with local authorities and families, especially ensuring safety, avoiding accidents and injuries and preventing drowning for students. Teacher Bui Minh Trung, Principal of Quynh Nhai High School, said: The school has directed the school's Youth Union to do a good job of grasping the situation of the school's youth union members. Coordinate in organizing volunteer activities, welcoming Party Congresses at all levels, strengthening propaganda on drowning prevention in the reservoir area, especially during the rainy season and maintaining the connection between the school and the family.
