Marriott International expands footprint in Vietnam, signs agreement with Vinpearl to strengthen cooperation and manage 7 new hotels

The signing of 7 more hotels affirms the strong development of the cooperative relationship between Vinpearl and Marriott International, Vinpearl becomes Marriott's largest partner in Vietnam with 15 hotels and resorts.

On April 19, 2023, Marriott International officially signed an agreement to strengthen cooperation with Vinpearl, the brand that owns the largest hotel and entertainment chain in Vietnam, taking over the management of 7 more hotels and resorts. In 2022, Marriott also announced its first cooperation with Vinpearl on upgrading and developing 8 hotels. Now, with the signing of this new cooperation agreement, Vinpearl is expected to be Marriott's largest partner in Vietnam, with a total of 15 hotels and resorts under joint management.

With a portfolio of new hotels in key tourism hubs such as Da Nang and Nha Trang, a resort in the famous ancient town of Hoi An, and our first internationally branded 5-star hotel in Bac Ninh, we are well-positioned to meet the diverse hotel needs in many attractive destinations across Vietnam.”

The agreement signed between Marriott International and Vinpearl is noted as marking a number of important milestones, including the expected opening of Marriott's largest hotel in Vietnam with 829 rooms.

Of the seven hotels and resorts signed this time, three will be converted and are expected to become part of the Marriott hotel chain by the end of this year.

Nha Trang Marriott Resort & Spa, Hon Tre - is expected to have 829 rooms - 403 standard and superior rooms, plus 426 villas with 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms with garden, lake, mountain or ocean views. Guests can dine at two restaurants, experience Marriott Hotels' signature Greatroom lounge and a poolside bar. Other amenities include 3 meeting rooms, 2 swimming pools, 2 tennis courts, fitness center and spa.

Renaissance Hoi An Resort & Spa is a dynamic, design-led resort with a transformative brand strategy, expected to mark Marriott International’s entry into Hoi An. The resort is expected to feature 193 standard rooms and 25 villas, 2 restaurants, 2 bars, an outdoor infinity pool, spa, fitness center and two floodlit tennis courts. The transformed hotel will also include a main ballroom, 2 meeting rooms and an outdoor event area.

Danang Marriott Resort & Spa, Non Nuoc Beach Villas is also expected to feature a collection of spacious 2, 3 and 4 bedroom pool villas, with ample indoor and outdoor space for romantic getaways and family vacations. Nestled on Non Nuoc Beach near the center of Danang, the resort also features 3 restaurants, a swimming pool, fitness center, Quan Spa, kids club, two tennis courts and a sports center for water sports activities.

Four new hotels with a total of more than 1,200 rooms are expected to be completed by 2028, including the Bac Ninh Marriott Hotel. The Bac Ninh Marriott Hotel is scheduled to open in 2026, marking the debut of Marriott International in Bac Ninh, with a prime location not far from the capital city of Hanoi. The hotel’s construction plan includes 275 standard and premium rooms, 5 areas providing culinary services including a rooftop bar, a swimming pool, a gym and Quan Spa. Expected to be a new destination for out-of-town events, the hotel is expected to have a 691m2 main ballroom and 2 other meeting spaces.

Marriott International currently operates 16 hotels and resorts in Vietnam, with strong growth. It is expected that in the coming years, some exciting brands will officially launch in Vietnam such as: The Ritz-Carlton, Westin, Element and Courtyard by Marriott.
