Fatherland Front of Cai Lay Town: Imprints through a term

The achievements of the Front work in Cai Lay Town, Tien Giang Province in the past 5 years (2019 - 2024) have contributed to consolidating and promoting the great national unity bloc; creating social consensus to successfully carry out the tasks of socio-economic development, national defense - security, and maintaining political stability in the area. The Fatherland Front of the town has left a strong mark and created a widespread vitality in the community. This is a solid foundation for the Fatherland Front of the town to accelerate and make breakthroughs in the new term.

STRENGTHENING THE GREAT NATIONAL UNITY BLOCKS

Looking back at the results of the past term, the Town Fatherland Front has achieved and exceeded the targets of the Town Fatherland Front Congress Resolution for the 2019-2024 term. Specifically: The Town Fatherland Front and its member organizations and grassroots organizations have focused on innovating the content and methods of operation to become more specific and practical. The role and position of the Town Fatherland Front are increasingly affirmed in the political system and people's lives, firmly consolidating the great national unity bloc, contributing to the development of the town.

Comrade Pham Van Van, Standing Deputy Secretary of Cai Lay Town Party Committee, presented a banner from the Town Party Executive Committee to the Congress with the words "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Development".

The Fatherland Front and its member organizations have built many new models and methods suitable to the specific conditions of each facility. Continuing to promote the spirit of self-management of the people, the Residential Area Front Working Committee regularly propagates, mobilizes and mobilizes internal resources from the people to participate in economic development, join hands in sustainable poverty reduction, respond and voluntarily participate in activities to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

Typically, the capital mobilized from people to build new rural areas was over 15 billion VND; of which, people donated 15,550 m2 of land to build infrastructure, rural roads, offices, hamlet and neighborhood cultural houses, contributed over 12,000 working days, built 8 new bridges worth 2.4 billion VND; contributed to the town completing the task of building new rural areas and being recognized as a type III urban area in 2020.

Comrade Pham Van Van, Standing Deputy Secretary of Cai Lay Town Party Committee, said that in the coming time, the Party Committee and the town government will continue to build Cai Lay Town to develop more and more so that by 2030 it will become Cai Lay City directly under the province.

That is the inevitable trend of development, the requirement, the responsibility for the common development of the country. Besides the advantages, the town also faces many difficulties and challenges, while the town's investment resources are still limited, the lives of a part of the people are still difficult, many problems in the fields of economy, culture, society... need a lot of time, focusing on many resources to be able to solve fundamentally and synchronously.

Therefore, the role of the Front at all levels in promoting democracy, building great national unity, creating social consensus, gathering and mobilizing social resources to participate in building and developing the town is an issue of utmost importance.

The new term of the Cai Lay Town Fatherland Front Committee must have solutions to make the Resolution a reality in people's lives and the activities of each member organization and each cadre working on the Front from the town to the grassroots level.

With the rich revolutionary tradition, dynamism, creativity and enthusiasm for the assigned tasks of the town and ward - commune cadres, in the new term, we believe that the movement of the town Front will reap even greater achievements in the emulation movement of the provincial Front.

Emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Fatherland Front were well organized and implemented, contributing practically to the successful implementation of the town's political tasks. The Fatherland Front at all levels in the town coordinated with the town police to effectively implement the movement "All people protect national security", thereby consolidating and improving the quality of 922 self-managed People's Groups on security and order, 6 People's Protection Committees with 79 members, 72 Civil Defense Teams with 449 members, and installing 332 new cameras on 21 roads.

Thereby, the people proactively provided 145 valuable sources of information, held public meetings to handle 123 subjects; commended 150 collectives and 240 outstanding individuals. In the movement "All people participate in ensuring traffic order and safety", the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations from the town to the grassroots level propagated, mobilized, managed, assisted, and signed commitments to implement traffic safety, protect the safety corridors of waterways and roads. In particular, the model of self-management of traffic safety, households, and residential areas ensuring traffic order and safety has strongly impacted the awareness of voluntary compliance of traffic participants.

With the tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source”, the Town Fatherland Front coordinated with the People’s Committee, functional departments, and member organizations to mobilize people from all walks of life to participate in many forms such as: Organizing meetings; Memorial ceremonies to honor martyrs; organizing visits and giving gifts to families with meritorious services to the revolution. Thereby, the “Repaying gratitude” Fund was mobilized for more than 3.2 billion VND, building and handing over 150 gratitude houses, repairing 90 houses, etc.

The town's Fatherland Front has gradually improved the quality and effectiveness of its supervision work; proactively selected the content and subjects of supervision in accordance with the actual situation in the locality and presided over the supervision of many contents directly related to the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people. After supervision, the recommendations of the Fatherland Front were promptly resolved by the relevant agencies. Social criticism activities have contributed to promoting the people's mastery in the process of planning policies and guidelines, ensuring their necessity, rationality, feasibility and effectiveness, meeting the people's requirements and aspirations.

CONFIDENT FOR THE NEW TERM

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Development", in the coming term, the town's Fatherland Front will gather and unite all classes of people, mobilize all resources, strengthen social consensus, consolidate people's trust in the Party, and contribute to building Cai Lay town to develop quickly and sustainably. The town's Fatherland Front has set out specific goals and action programs with key tasks and key solutions.

With specific and practical actions, the Fatherland Front and its member organizations at all levels of the town have left a strong mark in the past term and affirmed the central role of the great national unity bloc.
Cai Lay Town received a Certificate of Merit from the Tien Giang Provincial Fatherland Front for its excellent performance in the 2019-2024 term.

Comrade Ngo Thanh Son, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Cai Lay Town, said that from the vivid reality of the Front's work in the past term, the town's Fatherland Front has drawn a number of lessons, which are an important basis for the Fatherland Front to operate to meet the requirements and tasks in the coming term.

In particular, the Town Fatherland Front will continue to coordinate propaganda and mobilize people to implement 19 criteria for new rural construction; actively participate in improving the quality of 10/10 communes meeting new rural standards, 6 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, 5 communes meeting model new rural standards, 6 wards meeting civilized urban standards in the period of 2024 - 2029; participate in assessing and recognizing communes meeting advanced new rural standards, model new rural standards, wards meeting civilized urban standards according to the annual Resolution of the Party Committee. Every year, 100% of residential areas organize well the National Great Unity Festival (November 18); of which, over 70% of residential areas organize well both the ceremony and the festival.

During the term, the Fatherland Front coordinated to mobilize the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels in Cai Lay Town to reach 5 billion VND, completed the construction of houses for poor households facing housing difficulties; effectively implemented the social security program. At the same time, mobilized the construction of sustainable poverty reduction models; ensured that 100% of construction works in the commune and ward had an effective community investment supervision board established.

Every year, the Town Fatherland Front ensures that 80-85% of the Front Working Committees are strong, 20% are good, and have no weaknesses; 85-90% of communes and wards are strong, and 10% are good; continue to consolidate and perfect the organization, content and methods of operation of the Town Fatherland Front, focusing on the grassroots and residential areas; strongly promote the role and responsibility of member organizations and the Advisory Board and Advisory Group. Along with that, it is necessary to build a team of Front officials with sufficient qualities, capacity, creativity, enthusiasm, responsibility, good at mass mobilization, and aspiration to contribute, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new period.
