The patient's relatives said that due to a family conflict, the male patient was stabbed with a sharp knife with such force that the blade broke and remained deep in the wound.
According to Dr. Nguyen Manh Truong, Head of the emergency team at the hospital, the patient was admitted with a stab wound in the right axillary and subclavian artery and vein. The 2 cm long wound had sharp edges in the right subclavian artery and bled profusely. The right forearm had reduced mobility, numbness, and a weak pulse.
After performing basic tests for emergency surgery, the patient was transferred to the operating room. The surgery lasted 90 minutes, the doctors safely removed the 10cm broken blade, and the blood vessels and nerves were dissected to control the damage.
The patient is now out of danger, no longer has signs of numbness, and can move normally again.
