The Nations League third-place match between France and the hosts was quite open as both teams wanted to play offensively.
Germany started the match like a storm, continuously causing trouble for the French goal, but their final shots were not difficult enough to beat Mike Maignan.
France had fewer chances in the first half but they were the ones who found the opening goal.
In the 45th minute, Aurélien Tchouaméni passed behind the German defense to Kylian Mbappe. The French captain controlled the ball neatly, then turned the ball to eliminate Joshua Kimmich before finishing to score, putting France ahead.
If the first half was dominated by Germany, the second half belonged to France. With a 1-goal lead, France retreated to defense, waiting for a counterattack opportunity. Germany pushed up their attack but encountered a very solid blue defense.

France beat Germany 2-0 to take third place in the Nations League. Meanwhile, Germany continued to disappoint in their journey to rebuild after a difficult period.
