Natalie DeLaere and Colin, who now live in Arizona, never realized they had gone to kindergarten together until recently.
They both grew up in Fresno, California. "We went to different schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. I remember we first met in college," Natalie once shared.
The couple felt a connection as soon as they met. They fell in love and got married, and have been married for four years now.
"Our college was pretty small. We met and became friends. Through our conversations, we discovered that both of our parents were in Fresno, less than 5km apart. At that time, I thought the world was really small," she shared.

The surprising truth
Natalie could not have imagined what she would discover when her mother-in-law visited her tiny home in mid-2024.
At the time, she was carrying a bag of Colin's childhood memorabilia that she found in the attic. "My mother-in-law brought a bag full of my husband's old memorabilia, including a picture of him from kindergarten," she said.
Looking at the photo, Natalie was surprised to see a very familiar face standing next to her husband. It was her. Neither of them knew that they had been in the same kindergarten class and were standing next to each other when the whole class took a group photo.
"It's really hard to believe. We've been together for so many years and we didn't realize it. We always thought we first met when we were 18. In fact, we've been in the same class since kindergarten," she said.
The couple shared the story on social network TikTok and attracted great attention from the online community.
Natalie told People on October 9 that it was a beautiful memory for her family. "Family members thought it was strange that we not only went to kindergarten together, but also stood next to each other in the group photo," she said.
